This book was great to showing sometimes the best laid plans are just that plans. Life can make changes you didn't even know were coming. The fact that Heidi thinks everything is on track just shows how she forgot to plan the life factor. I like the fact Kyle comes in and shows her that plans are great but living is even better. The push and pull attraction between Heidi and Kyle is great to read because at some point you know something has to give.

I stumbled on a "Tori Carrington" book completely by accident. A friend I exchange books with gave me this one first...which is out of sequence in the "Fantasy, Michigan" Indecent Proposals series...

I really enjoyed this story! The "Jesse's Girl" theme piqued my interest as a lifelong fan of that infamous song...lol

The writing style is very fresh & modern and the things that happen in these relationships are relatable to real life. If you don't believe me...just get this book! Then you'll rush to get the other series...and read them in order just like I did!

Heidi Joblowski has come a long way from her white trash Fantasy, Michigan DNA. She worked hard to become a chef and has dreams to open up her own catering business. She also plans to marry Jess Gilbred, who has been her best friend and in many ways mentor since high school although they are the same age; he comes from a much better pedigree, but he feels the same way she does. He was her first and will be her only.

However her vow dies of Jess being her solo sex partner when Heidi meets his best friend, architect Kyle Trapper. She wants him as lust takes over every cell in her body; he feels the same way about her. Their tryst is incredible and both feel love made it that way. However, each feels guilty as they must inform Jess that Heidi is no longer Jesse's girl.

This is an angst laden contemporary romance in which Heidi's history that led to her strict plan is fully described so that the audience understands her emotional conflict. Kyle's need for her comes across as deep. However, readers will be peeved at their RECKLESS behavior as neither comes forth to inform Jesse; whose secret somewhat mitigates the impact on him. Still Team Carrington provides an intriguing Michigan romance.

This is the 2nd book in a series of 3, the 1st being Shameless. I liked this story, but it didn't seem to flow as well as the 1st story. There were a few times that two different scenes collided without a break in between, for example: in one scene Heidi was sitting at her mothers house and then all of a sudden she was in her own kitchen. This could be a bad edit on the kindle version, it may not be in the book version. Other than that, I liked the story and I've already started Restless.
