Tow plays by John Howard Lawson.
From the Author:
Of the plays in this volume, The Pure in Heart existed for seven performances; Gentlewoman was performed 12 times. It is my belief of the management in both cases, that these plays would appeal to a limited, but appreciative audience. The cost of operation made a fair test of public response impossible. It is perfectly obvious that the plays were not closed by the public. They were closed by Irresponsible Dictatorship.
