A Happy Accident,
By Alexis Andrea (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
I first came across Sniegoski's "Fallen" series by accident while working as a councelor at a Maine summer camp. It was the best thing ever. Ever since reading the first book, I've been officially hooked."The Reckoning" continues with all the power and enticing action that started in the first book. It just keeps on going. I was beyond impatient to get the book, and very smug while finally reading it. The storyline truly is fantastic. I fear giving anything away so all I must say is "pick it up!" That, reinforced with the fact that every friend I have who has read the series has loved it as much as I. A large majority of books screw up when it comes to concluding a story. They seem to write out of context just to finish their writing. "The Reckoning" flows awesomely. I was not disappointed at all while still remaining intrigued with what could and may happen after the last chapter. Pick up the whole series! It's definitely worth it!

Sniegoski ends The Fallen series with a bang in Reckoning - This is the final showdown between Aaron and Vercheil. Vercheil is an avenging angel who has corrupted his original quest from God (to round up fallen angels) to killing them and the children of angels and women, Nephilim. Aaron is also fighting to help Vilma, his love, to complete her transformation to Nephilim - she's having a hard time, like some do, and if it doesn't work, the person sometimes go crazy and have to be killed -
This series puts a new light on Lucifer, the fallen angel who was once the brightest, best of God's angels. His jealousy helped create the divide in Heaven, and it was under his banner that the fallen angels fought God. Lucifer's punishment was Hell, but all the suffering and pain one thinks of Hell is inside him. He painfully bears this punishment for his crimes against God. But he is part of the key for the fallen angels' redemption - This is a wonderful series - I hated to see it end - one of the best characters is Gabriel, Aaron's Golden Lab - He is a wonderful asset to the series and is as strong a character as any in the book. The resolution is spectacular, and if you have not read the series The Fallen before, do so - it is an exciting and wondrous series.

The Final Book Of A Awesome Series, Too Bad,
This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the conclusion to a awesome series of books. It was by far my favorite book of the series. Only draw back to the book is that it left me wanting more without another book to fill the void. It was a great conclusion to the series. It had everything you could want from great action imagery, to the conclusion to a love story, to the conclusion to the mystery that ran throughout the series. Just the plot and story line in this book is just amazing. You can feel the tension during the battle scenes and the worry during the critical moments. The imagery improves from that of the earlier books. Again you can just see the surrounding structures and figures that fill the pages of the book. It keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. In some places it gives you feeling that it's going to go a certain way and then all of the sudden it changes and goes in a different direction. When the final battles begin to wadge you can feel the conflict between the good and evil. It just keeps you turning the pages just as quick as you can finish the page before it, always wondering what the next page may bring. I myself wish there were another book or two in the series, but i know that all good things must come to an end. I wouldn't want and 5th book come out and it turn out to not be as good as the rest of the series and mess it up the continuous flow of each book in the series, as each book got better than the previous book. This book as well as the rest of the series is well worth the read. It is a amazing series.

It's over $60?!,
This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love this series! I just finished the 3rd book, and was hoping to get to read the last book. I came on here, and just saw it was out of print, and saw the listing prices. Well over $60 for it. I love this series, but not enough to spend that much when the original listing price is 5.99. I love it, but jeez, it would be nice if they could reprint it for us who haven't read the whole series yet.

Review of Reckoning,
By Kat Mo (Georgetown, DE United States) - See all my reviews

This book happened to be my favorite book out of the series. I absolutely love it because it's suspenseful and you don't know what's going to happen next. I also like the names in the book - such as Lucifer Morningstar. Overall, the book is amazing and i wish there could be more books in the series.

4th Book Available on Kindle,

This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
Hi Everybody I was just looking at the comments of this series and found that the 4th book has a mark up of $70-$500. I just thought I should let everyone know that there is a Kindle Edition of the book and it is 4.99. And for those of you who do not have a kindle you can download the kindle for PC application for free then buy the Kindle version and read it on your PC. In case anyone just really needs to read it. The Kindle Edition is Reckoning (Kindle Edition)
Oh right and I do not work for amazon or Kindle. Just in case someone thinks I am trying to promote it. The next time this book is printed will be in July 2010. On other sites you can already preorder. You might also consider reading it as an ebook for free if your College library has ebooks for checkout online.

Could do without the romance,
By
This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
About the Book:
In the fourth (and what was once the final) installment of The Fallen series, Aaron starts accepting his destiny more when he demands that the citizens stand their ground instead of running once again. Meanwhile, Vilma's angelic force is threatening to overpower her and seize control, and Aaron must find a way to stop it or the others may be forced to kill her. Then in other parts of the world, Verichiel is carrying out his mad plans as he tries to change the word of God and release Hell on Earth. Review: Wow! What a fantastic read! This was a book I did not want to put down. Yes, the dialogue still isn't superb, and the writing remains clunky and repetitive, but it remained excellent. Sniegoski did a wonderful job at creating a thrilling and at times gruesome novel/series. I was especially enamored with Verchiel in Reckoning to see what he was going to do next and whether and when Lucifer would be forgiven of his sins. Sniegoski also created a vivid and disturbing image as Verchiel endures more punishment as he treads down his path. His writing may not be the best, but he excels are portraying a picture in the mind's eye. I really could have done without the entire Vilma/Aaron romance subplot however. Wheras Sniegoski writes a swell play by play action scene, his romance skills are on par with George Lucas. The entire things was so contrived from point one that it seemed false. Sadly, it only seems to get worse each book. Don't make me mention the dreadful epilogue. Overall, however, it was a fantastic book and series, which I would highly recommend to teens and anyone with an interest in angels.

enjoyable series, this kindle edition full of typos,

The typos and formatting cause me to rate this at 3. I did not find problems with the first 3 in the series, but with the last book it was serious enough to cause confusion at times. Is it enough to make me wait for the next edition and pay $3 more? Probably not.
But as to the series: it's not the Harry Potter series or the Hunger Games series, both of which were incredible, excellent, love them to death and re-read multiple times good, but it was pretty enjoyable. It has my favorite theme- the protagonist rises to the occasion even though he'd rather not. And it has a very sweet talking dog. (Anything with a talking dog is worth a look in my book.) I did get tired of the angels, however. How could any beings so nasty and conceited have ever been good? The second book, Leviathan, was the weakest. It seemed like an unrelated story who's purpose was to allow a few loose threads time to develop.

Not Dante's Inferno,
By Taylor Corbet "Taylor Corbet" (PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Reckoning (The Fallen) (Mass Market Paperback)
I didn't even realize I haven't reviewed this book when I reviewed the other three in the series. I think this was the best one, which is not something that can be said of most series. It was a great conclustion that wraped everything up so well. In many ways it doesn't have the perfect happy ending, but the ending is natural for this series. On the one hand, I wish there was more, on the other, this was the perfect ending.
