5.0 out of 5 stars Alright
i thoought this was a good book. It wasn't the best in the series but it was still good. It has just about no center on Morgan but on Alissa. She travels to her mothers hometown to discover her family. Her trip is hindered by the fact that she didn't get permission to go and by the fact that everyone in her family believes she doesn't have in magic. I'd definitly...

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating diversion in the series, October 9, 2002

This review is from: Reckoning (Sweep, No. 13) (Mass Market Paperback)
After a dozen books concentrating on Morgan, the Sweep series gets a jolt of new energy in this story of Alissa, whose journey to Gloucester and discovery of her family heritage is exceptionally well told. The author has crafted a well-told tale, with great new characters and a sly sense of humor. I can't wait to read more!

I loved this book, and I love this series. I couldn't put it down. I don't understand how some people reviewed this book below 5 stars. It was different than the other books, from a different person's point of view. I got to know Alisa more, and I am so happy she met Charlie, he sounds so nice.
Everyone has to read this book, if they haven't read any of the series they definitly should, they are missing out.

...

This book actually deals with Alisa. I liked the book. It was pretty slow moving, but it definately was not the worst book in the series. In this book Alisa runs away from home in order to visit her mother's family (mostly her uncle, Sam) and find out more about herself and her heritage. You learn a lot in this book and you learn why alisa acts the way she does and you also actually learn to love her.

I reccomend this book entirely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Now it's Alisa's Turn, October 27, 2003

This review is from: Reckoning (Sweep, No. 13) (Mass Market Paperback)
Alisa now knows that she is a witch, that she has telekinetic powers, and that she has other family, including an uncle, that she never knew about. When things at home get too tense with her stepmother-to-be, Alisa runs away to visit her newly discovered family.

Things become weird almost from the start. Her uncle is friendly, her grandmother seems surly, and Alisa seems to be falling for her cousin's boyfriend. To top it of, a family ghost seems to be becoming far more active and dangerous.

Alisa must show courage and strength in order to deal with her new family, her old family, her new powers, and the secrets behind the ghost.

A wonderful story which stands apart from the Morgan/Hunter main storyline, but one that ultimately leaves the reader wanting an extra chapter. As the story reaches its conclusion, we don't find out how things really turn out. We suspect how they do, but the book and the series conclude without any more information. Maybe there will be another Super Edition that will finish things up (or maybe a spin-off series?)

Anyway, a fine book about courage, strength and self-discovery.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweep #13, May 4, 2011
This was my first read in the Sweep series; I was pleasantly surprised that despite being #13 in the series, I was easily able to pick up the story. In other words, it can stand on its own. Alisa has recently discovered that she is half-witch. She is accepted in her circle but her best friend is wary of this knowledge. Her dad's girlfriend is pregnant and getting ready to turn Alisa's room into a nursery. She runs away to a relative on her mom's side, hoping to get more information about the strange visions she's been having. Her newly-found grandmother seems to hate her but other relatives are happy to share information with her.
