Book Description

Secrets rule Lana’s life. Her father’s death brought some out into the open, but she has a few of her own: 1) she’s been married to Blake for nearly a year—and trying to get a divorce for most of that time. 2) A moment of emotional weakness and too much champagne ended with her in her husband’s arms—and now she’s pregnant.

Blake hasn’t thought of another woman since they first met, though she believes otherwise. When Lana’s hotel-magnate father offers him the job of regional manager—and an office in the hotel Lana would be managing, Blake jumps at it. Keeping her attention when it’s split between her sisters, the ins and outs of running a resort, and the ‘ghost’ who’s been haunting the building isn’t easy. Learning about the baby convinces him to redouble his efforts though—he isn’t going to give up without a fight, and when someone comes after Lana, the stakes are raised again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Series May 8, 2013
By Alicia
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am loving the series so far. I noticed a pretty big error though that made me flip back into an earlier section. This was when Rosemary became the first to know about Lana's pregnancy because she confronted her after hearing her constantly throwing up since her room is below Lana's. During the middle of the book though when she finally came clean to all the sisters, Rosemary had no clue about it. Other then that and a spelling error, I loved it and can't wait to start Rosemary 's story!

1.0 out of 5 stars FRUSTRATED!!!!!! January 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
OMFG Lana frustrates the hell out of me!!! Idk why this book has such high ratings. Blake does not deserve her at all! Lana's reasons for wanting a divorce is so stupid and the fact that she wouldn't even hear what Blake has to say makes me want to pull my hair out in frustration and her reason for wanting to keep her relationship with Blake a secret. Book drags a lot and was super slow and repetitive at times. Almost quit the book half way through but decided to stay for Blake. I esp wanted to choke Lana towards the end after the confrontation betwn her and Royce when she accused Blake of being in it with his dad. I mean common really, Lana?! Sheesh I say for Blake to dump her a** and go find someone else who deserves his love. I feel bad that Blake was trying to win back her love for almost a year and Lana a little amount of time after that fiasco.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mmmm, pretty thing premise to this story... July 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Before buying this I checked all the reviews as I wasn't blown away by the first book I read (A Perfect Fit (DiCarlo Brides Book 1) (The DiCarlo Brides)) but was intrigued enough by the glimpses of this story to buy it. Unfortunately there wasn't a summary only a mention of a smallish error.
So basically we know that the h is the second legitimate daughter of the Di Carlo father and is the manager of the new resort recently opened. Her boss is the H, whom she secretly married the year before but is estranged from him. At the opening of this book we discover that she slept with him on the night of the opening and is now pregnant. Prior to this incident she'd been pushing him for a divorce because she thought he was cheating on her. The h has huge trust issues because her father had regularly cheated on her mother and she has 4 illegitimate sisters as a result of his various affairs. She has been living with her half-sisters as a condition of her late father's will, as well as working with them at the resort.

The H is still very much in love with the h and is trying to get her to give their marriage another chance. When he finds out about her pregnancy, he is more determined than ever. There is a sub-plot about a 'ghost' story that was more of a distraction for me than anything else but it did end up impacting on the relationship with the H and h.

My problem with the book is that the supposed cheating by the H was never more than a leap of stupidity on the h's part. There was no proof besides her seeing him with another woman in public. She was never prepared to talk to him about it. I hated that the H never tried to sort things out and left her alone for months until he came to oversee the resort where she is the manager. He had his own insecurities but it made him a bit weak in my eyes.

There are definitely better books out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Third book in the series May 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story of Lana and Blake. Interesting book. Kept my interest. There was a part that was off about the pregnancy and who knew and the didn't (previous reviewer mentioned), but it doesn't change the story. It makes you go huh? With that said, if you are enjoying the other books in the series, then you will certainly enjoy this one.

I really enjoyed this book. The perspective of a husband trying to win his wife back was quite fascinating. It's also a clean romance. I would recommend all the books in this series. I can't wait to read the next one.

More About the Author

Heather Tullis has always loved romance, and read voraciously as a young teen (and even before). Writing it down eventually was inevitable. The DiCarlo Brides series is the first she's published under this name, though she's published eight other romances under another name. She loves gurgling brooks, chocolate pinwheel cakes and twinkle lights. All six of the DiCarlo Brides books are slated for release by the end of 2013.
