Recombinant DNA book for students, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Recombinant DNA and Biotechnology: A Guide for Teachers (Paperback)
This is a great reference textbook for teachers. I teach recombinant DNA methods in the middle school, and I am always looking for ways to bring the information in hand's on methods. I used the template in the book to build a strand of DNA twenty feet long with mRNA, tRNA and then amino acids building a protein. It was wonderful to see the understanding in their eyes with DNA that is large enough to be 'touched'. There is also another hand's on set like this for PCR cloning, and several others. The descriptions of the methods in the text are well writte.

Great Text, December 22, 2004
This review is from: Recombinant DNA and Biotechnology: A Guide for Teachers (Paperback)
I am using the 1996 version for a high school genetics class and I love it. The newer version is probably more up-to-date and I plan on getting it soon. I would definitely suggest this book.
