The sharpest knife out of the box I have ever purchased, and seems to hold an edge forever. In spite of the price, this is one well made knife. I have always liked a tanto blade for strength and ability to hold an edge and this knife is a great example of that tradition. You can purchase a much more expensive knife, and I have not seen a destruction test on this particular one, but from what I have seen having owned one for over a year, this knife is a great buy, and if I managed to loose it, I'd buy another in a heart beat.
