I have a fairly small yard (live in a townhouse) and didn't want to get a gas-powered trimmer.

I had a minor snag as the AC charging adapter wasn't in the box (I bought this from amazon, not Buckeye). Called Black & Decker and had a new one in a few days.

The rotating head works perfectly for getting the vertical trimming like along the sidewalk. Weight and balance feel good, not too unwieldy, not too light. Battery life is enough that I can get my front and back yard done off a single charge unless I wait too long between trimming - 3 weeks or so.

Bottom line: Super perfect for small yards. If you've got a larger yard and don't want gas-powered, get a unit with removable battery pack and get a spare battery.

We purchased this product through amazon.com from buckeye tool supply. When we received it, the battery life would not last long enough to complete our yard, which approx. 1/2 acre. We contacted the company and was offered an upgraded model that was 18 volt rather than 12 volt with two batteries and they even took care of the return shipping of this item listed above. I don't know that I would recommend the product, maybe if you have a small yard it would be fine, but i would recommend the company. thanks for you customer service buckeye.

OOPS - got tool out to use this spring and it will not charge - e-mailed Buckeye Tool Supply several times and have received not one response. So much for reconditioned tools and so much for Buckeye Tool - Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!

Extremely easy to use. Does a great job of reaching those areas that are not accessible by a edger or mower.

A piece of junk. This thing is tremendously underpowered, it has problems with anything more than 10 to 15 blades of grass at a time. There is only one trimmer line coming out and it is hard to feed a new line when needed. I would not only never recommend one of these but I would actively try to talk anyone out of purchasing one. To add a little background, I have been using string trimmers for 40 years, multiple manufacturers, and have never been more dissatisfied with one than I was with this.

I've only a small patch of grass in the yard (too big for using shears tho!) and so this was the perfect solution. I've not had recharge problems but that's probably due to my small grass area.

It is fairly heavy though and even having handles for both hands, can be a little tough on the back.

But overall, an excellent product.

My old string trimmer died, and I decided that a cordless one would be a better option, and this one fit the bill, at a great price. More than does the job - even cut a couple very small tree branches. A little heavy, but that's a minor trade off to not have to deal with a cord.

Is it just me or am I using it wrong? But the unit is not as powerful as I thought it should be. Probably because that it is electric.

I picked up one of these on clearance at Lowe's Home Improvement last summer. It's now been one year and this trimmer has served me extremely well. For a light duty trimmer/edger this product has well exceeded my expectations. It's quiet, light and very easy to use. Living in North Carolina it got very little down time during the winter. I'm still able to trim and edge the entire property without depleting the battery charge.

A couple of cons:

I've found that sometimes the line doesn't auto-advance as quickly I'd like it to. Also, the rechargeable battery is integrated, so when it hits its end-of-life I don't know if it can be replaced.

Too many pros to list. For light duty trimming and edging I'd strongly recommend this product.

I had this item before and liked it. It did not survive a move so I needed to replace it. The factory reconditioned one is just like new. Not problems, works well, and easy to use.
