4.0 out of 5 stars Product worth money.
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my Power Washer box. Product looked new, all parts were there and it worked as advertised. Product was also packaged well. Would recommend buying the reconditioned washer and saving at least $50.

1.0 out of 5 stars I didn't "clean up" with this deal..., July 17, 2005

Like the other reviewer, I, too, received a very dirty Factory Reconditioned Campbell Hausfeld RBPW1580LE Electric Pressure Washer. I had waited anxiously for it's arrival and was very disappointed when I opened the box. There were scratches and deep gouge marks in various places. Not to mention it was grimey with actual dirt on the unit. It looked WELL used, but certainly not lovingly. Still, I figured, hey I waited this long, I might as well keep it. I hooked it up and water leaked everywhere. There was some leaks in the connections. If that was not enough, the motor sounded like it was having dificulty staying on. I tried to rationalize keeping this despite the various problems but that was the final deal breaker -- I contacted Amazon, arranged the pickup and sent it back where it came from! To Amazon's credit, I got no hassels for the return and my account was promptly credited. Unfortunately, it made me seriously rethink purchasing "reconditioned" items. I will definitely be a lot more hesitant in the future.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this!, August 28, 2005
This review is from: Factory Reconditioned Campbell Hausfeld RBPW1580LE Electric Pressure Washer 1500 PSI 1.7 GPM (Lawn & Patio)
I received this washer yesterday and was disappointed when I opened the box. Like other reviewers here, I received a VERY dirty and scratched up unit. However, I ordered the unit knowing this could be the case and was prepared to keep it. That is, until I assembled it and started using it today to clean my patio. I have two major issues with this:

1. Leaks -- The hose that connects the wand to the unit leaks, regardless of how tight I fasten it. Because of the leak, the unit thinks it should be on, and thus, turns off and on intermittently.

2. WEAK! -- I bought this so that I wouldn't have to always borrow my friends measly 1100 PSI pressure washer. Boy was I surprised when I compared the two side by side and found that the 1100 PSI unit was MUCH more powerful. This was mostly due to the fact that the 1100 unit was able to condense its' output to a fine stream, which is great for getting dirt out of cracks. The campbell hausfeld unit's most condensed output is still a "spray" as opposed to a "stream".

I am ultimately very disappointed in this item and have just filled out the return form. It'll be going back to Amazon tomorrow. As another reviewer said, this makes me think twice about ordering refurbished products, especially online.

Delivery was rapid and very satisfactory. The product was in good condition with the exception of one of the wheels, which was broker. I contacted the companies customer service and a new wheel was received in about five business days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised, October 10, 2005

This was definitely a good buy. All parts and instructions were included and the unit worked as advertised by the manufacturer. My first project was to remove flaking paint from some galvanized steel downspouts. While conventional wisdom said that this unit would not be powerful enough for the task, I think it did a remarkable job, saving me a lot of hard and tedious work with a wire brush. All the paint was not removed but all loose and peeling areas came off effortlessly. I hope it works as well for future projects.

I received the reconditioned unit in great shape and in a timely manner. Can't tell it from new. These are rated highly by Consumer Reports and I'm glad to be using electricity and not a gas one anymore.

3.0 out of 5 stars pressure washer review, September 10, 2005
This review is from: Factory Reconditioned Campbell Hausfeld RBPW1580LE Electric Pressure Washer 1500 PSI 1.7 GPM (Lawn & Patio)
Not entirely as advertised. The washer did not come with the adjustable (fan to tight stream) wand that was specified in it's instructions, b ut instead had another type of wand that was much less versatile. A plastic quick disconnect system for the water input hose leaked so much that it could not be used and had to be replaced locally. The whole system was thrown together into its shipping box. --- On the other hand, the system is powerful enough for my needs and seems to work OK. Not a bad deal fot the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of pressure with 1.7 GPM, September 2, 2005
This review is from: Factory Reconditioned Campbell Hausfeld RBPW1580LE Electric Pressure Washer 1500 PSI 1.7 GPM (Lawn & Patio)
This is the 2nd washer I've purchased. After doing a lot of homework, the 1st was purchased so I could clean my aviaries and patio and hose the spider webs from my house with a minimum of effort. The 1.7 GPM, its light weight and the fact that it came with a 25 ft hose were the deciding factors in my chosing this particular make and model. The special nozzle was an unexpected 'bonus'. I was overjoyed at how much time I was saving on my work in the back yard so bought the 2nd one to keep in the front yard. I use it instead of a power blower (it keeps my hay fever down). Although the 2nd one wasn't in as good condition as the 1st, it is completely satisfactory. For those people who don't want the weight and the cord tugging of a gas model, I definitely recommend this pressure washer.
