I am going to write this review to cover several items, and just duplicate it to all the items involved. The items are the reconditioned Ryobi 30 cc straight shaft tiller, the Expand-It Tiller attachment, the Expand-It Edger attachment. The stars and titles, though are for the item it is attached to.

The Expand-It attachments are made by Homelite. I'm not a Homelite fan, but why this was apparently avoided in the descriptions is beyond me. This having been said, they appear to be at least as capable as their more-famous competitor brands.

Factory-Reconditioned Expand-It Tiller Attachment for String Trimmers #ZR15521

Factory Reconditioned Expand-It Edger Attachment For String Trimmers #ZR15518

The Ryobi reconditioned power unit for these units is more than adequate for all the tasks involved. Using the straight shaft Ryobi power unit, though can be a little tough. "Reconditioned" means some surface imperfections. I could see no sign of the power plant itself ever having been used. I opened the gas tank and sniffed inside, and could detect no smell of gas, so I believe this was purchased and returned unused or possibly was a display model. Regardless, I believe I got a new unit for a less than new price. You may or may not be as lucky.

Good Product. Works like new for reconditioned. My recommendation wouold be to remove the curb guide the day you get it. All it does is cause the edger to dig into the ground and bogg it down. After I removed it, the edger worked "GREAT".

I think I got a great price on this item and it seems to work well so far except the first time I used it the wheal fell off because the way it is attached to the axel with a cheap press on cap. I had to drill a hole through the axel and insert a cotter pin to prevent this from happening. You would expect to be able to use this equipment at least a few times before it fell apart. For me it was an easy fix so I kept it instead of going through the hassel of returning it.

This is not universal. The alignment is off center for my Ryobi trimmer and the edger attachment is on an angle.. Yes - I tried all the hole alignments. Hard to believe that this would not align with one of the popular name brands. I am guessing this was reconditioned because it is a factory error and no one thinks to check that it is mis-aligned. Someone else will get this as a reconditioned unit in a few weeks, would be my guess.

I live in North Carolina on a small 1/4 acre lot. This works great on my Ryobi expand-it trimmer. I use it for trimming the sidewalk and driveway.
Does a good job at low cost for homeowners.

Item arrived with a bent curb guide. Called and they sent a free replacement. By that time, the head unit had failed and I have to used the edger.
I have purchased several Ryobi products over the years but probably never will again. I ordered 4 items and after the first use, three had to be taken in for warranty repairs.

so far, so good --- have used several times and gets my job done very quickly and effectively -- easily on/off attaches to my power module as I exchange from trimmer to edger -- the whole unit is a bit heavy, and although a strap is shown in the product doc, I did not receive one.

This company pulled a "Bait and Switch" The picture you see here is the item I wanted as I had a model like this in the past. It is NOT the item I received. I received a different version by Ryobi which was made noticeably cheaper. If I had known I was not getting the one described and PICTURED, I would not have ordered it. For another $5, I could have gone to the Home Depot and brought a brand new one like the model they sent me.

THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT A RETURN....Horrible customer service
