I have had this Expand-It 10" Pruner Attachment for nearly two years now and I love it! It sure makes easy work of pruning my trees (and I have a LOT of trees) without climbing up and down and move ladders. Just need to understand a bit about physics and don't stand under the limb you're cutting off, keep your eyes on the limb...it may or may not fall straight down. Highly recommended!

I recieved the Pruner attachement last week then trimed my nieghbor and my 35 yr old pinoak trees. It worked fantastic like using a good handheld chinsaw the way it cut like butter through branchs up to 5-6 inches diameter. The full 12' extention allowed me great reach from a 12' ladder to access more than I could have calculated.
The product shipping was very fast as usual from Amazon and packaged well.

Pros - The trimmer is a good way to save money. Just attach the extension pole and add chain/bar oil to the case. I have used this a lot over the past month and it works flawlessly. Tightening the chain is easy.

Cons- Doesn't ship with an extension strap for the pole. No chain/bar oil is included with the unit so you need to run to the store before you can test it out.

Summary - good product!

If you are buying the a refurbed 4-stroke straight trimmer, the price in Amazon is pretty good.
I would search elsewhere for the attachments.
Do some searching at Home Depot for "recondition".

I plan on getting the pruner and the hedge trimmer attachments.
So far Home Depot's reconditions are $20 dollars cheaper than Amazon's.
Also, the "New Prices" in Amazon, are from when the product first came out.
This is not the "Current Price", which makes Amazon's "New Price" inflated by about $30 from the real cost if you were to walk into any "Big Box" store and buy a reconditioned there.

Another great purchase from Amazon. This is a great add on to your trimmer. Price was great.

This reconditioned Ryobi pruner attachment works and looks like new. Item is priced right and has excellent performance. I had no problems pruning 1" to 5" branches of cypress and maple trees in my yard. Item more than paid for itself after the first cut. Highly recommended especially with the confidence of buying it from Amazon.

who ever built this thing should be shot its garbage..i bought this attachment thinking because the bar was longer i could cut more wrong i used it on palm trees and the thing would get locked up cause the clipping dont have a vent to escape they just clog up inside the housing i had to take it apart more then a dozen times...my advice find something else trust me you couldn't give this attachment for free...

cuts allot better then i expected, i cant believe ive been trying to climb a ladder all these years, this is great.

is not bad for a reconditioned item was worth the money I saved from ordering it and not the one from SEARS

Good for those inexperienced with chainsaws, for bucking up smaller limbs and overhead limbs that are not too high (~10'above the ground) when you dont feel like breaking out the chain saw, and heavy brushing. Would not recommend for serious overhead limbing. You are gonna end up on a ladder any way. Get the Stihl HT 131 telescoping pole saw. Would probably not buy again.
