The trimmer arrived with a broken off choke adjustment (can't adjust choke to start engine) and a broken air box which holds the air filter and cover in place. The broken off parts were not in the shipping box so I have to assume that it was broken when it left the reconditioning facility. The trimmer may work fine, I don't know. My dissatisfaction is in the apparent lack of oversight in reconditioning. I think it's a gamble purchasing this trimmer.

I bought it on sale because my old one broke. I had trouble with it right out of the box. It's very very very hard to start, needing many pulls. It runs rough even thought I adjusted the carb screw. Don't buy this weed eater, it's pure junk.

I purchased this weedeater from VM Innovations. The first weedeater started hard and would not keep running....I sent it back the next day and it cost me $25 to send it back as the vendor will not pay for shipments back of defective product.
Against my better judgement I accepted a replacement thinking the first one was just a one time defective product. The second arrived and worked for about 20 minutes and the shaft became so hot that it melted the guard which was plastic and started smoking. So again I shipped it back at my expense (another $25). Beware if you buy from this vendor as they will not pay shipping on a defective product.....and if you send back a defective product they will charge you a 10% restock fee if you do not take a replacement and want a refund. This is the most frustrating experience that I have had shopping on the internet....not only the inconvenience ....but the waste of money (I spent $50 and still do not have a weedeater)

When I purchased this weed eater from Northern Tool it was advertised as new but later on was checking on order status it was listed as reconditioned. If I wanted a reconditioned product I would have purchased one that way. I sent an email to Northern Tool and never received a response. When the weed eater arrived it was in a big box loose without any packing material to keep it from moving around in the box. It would not idle when I started it up. I had to take it to a Northern Tool retail store and they adjusted it and it now will idle but I am so disatisfied with the product being reconditioned I will probably put it in the trash and purchase a new one from someone else locally. Also the employee at the store said they do not handle returns for internet purchases so dont by anything from Northern Tool online because they ignore your problems unless you happen to have a retail store nearby.

I bought this at WalMart, took it apart several times just to get it to work,,,some. Buy this you can expect about three hours of life tops, before you will have to take this apart and mayby it will work again for about twenty minutes before it has to be taken apart again.

Had to take it to service shop to get it started the first time. Weedeater csr said that all weedeaters were set to meet California epa standards and anywhere else, the carberator had to be adjusted.

I used the weedeater from VM Innnovations once and the head came off. The head had gotten so hot that it melted the plastic bolt. This was after 1/2 hour of weed eating on a very small job.I am in the process of returning the item . More to follow !!!!

I have a gas trimmer, but it's heavy and hard to start so I went to Kmart to buy an inexpensive electric one. Since it was lightweight I got the gas FL20 hoping it would be easier for me to handle. In the first 10 minutes the cover on the air filter broke (cheap plastic). I tied it on and kept trimming. It choked down constantly and my arm is tired from restarting it. No power. I'm going to go get a Stihl electric tomorrow after I return this junk.

This is a decent weedeater that you should consider for small jobs only. The combination of a small 20cc engine and a single line makes it inadequate for really messy yards. It is cheaply built and, as a result, won't last very long. They're so inexpensive that it almost makes no sense to fix them when they break down. I was able to use mine gently for about two summers before it started acting up.
Buy this if you're planning to use your weedeater for small, easy jobs; otherwise you're probably better off spending a bit more for a better trimmer.

Working fine now! I wrongly used some stale gasoline and after the first use it would not idle well. Trimmer head was dirty with old grass but cleaned out easily.
After several applications of clean out fluids and several runs with no idling it now appears to run fine.The price is very good! It is light. I like it better than more expensive trimmers and will buy another after I wear this one out.
