Line feed is terrible,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Factory Reconditioned Weed Eater FX26 16-Inch 25cc 2-Stroke Gas-Powered Curved-Shaft String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
The dual feed lines are the worst. They do not feed properly and there is a minimal amount of line on each channel of the spool. Also the .08 line breaks easily and the notches on the spool are too narrow to hold the line in place. I've converted to a .65 and it works more satisfactorily; however, the design flaw is evidenced by the fact that most other manufacturers have abandoned this modus operandi. The trimmer handles well and starts properly, but the line issue is insurmountable and therefore makes the product a poor choice. Also the cost of a pre-threaded spool replacement is ridiculously expensive. In summary, save your money and look elsewhere.

Don't Buy this trimmer,

This is the worst string trimmer I have had the misfortune to use in 30 years of doing my yard. The thing is difficult to hold and control, the engine won't idle even after carefully adjusting the idle speed screw. I used it for 10 minutes and gave up.And to top it off Amazon will not take it back "due to their return policy".

Weedeaster works well,
This review is from: Factory Reconditioned Weed Eater FX26 16-Inch 25cc 2-Stroke Gas-Powered Curved-Shaft String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
This is a weedeater I bought for home and my boys lawn service. When it arrived it ran rough. I quickly found out that the spark plug had broken in transit. After replacing the spark plug it ran great. I like the simple operation. It starts well, much better than a Ryobi I purchased for twice as much.

This was a very bad purchase. I even sent back the first weed eater and got another one and the second one was bad too. Do not buy any reconditioned weed eaters online. It is to much trouble to send them back. UPS will not take anything back with gas in it. A person is better off purchasing gas items in a store where you can return them if something is wrong. Sometime cheap is not better.

I thought this recon would have been like other recon items - like new and gives some sort of satisfaction. Very, very disappointing item overall.I found out that all the negative reviews posted are true. It came with weed in the head. It takes very long to start. It runs slowly and sounds like an old locomotive engine. It stalls often.I wish that I could afford to return it. Please don't buy. Use a cutlass to trim your edges before you ever buy one of those eaters.

I just wanted a basic weed trimmer; thought I would give this one a try. Mixed the oil and gas; filled it up. After much shoulder pain, I finally got it started. Could not keep it running. It finally got to the point where it would not run more than 5 or 6 seconds. I spent 30 minutes trying to at least get some trimming done. Emailed Weed Eater customer service - they said, no problem, take it to our authorized dealer, probably a simple carb adjustment. Went to dealer; he said he wouldn't touch it; Weed Eater probably wouldn't reimburse him for his work. Wanted me to pay $50 up front. I called Weed Eater; they said they would cover it; went back to dealer; he still said he would not take it without the $50 (I only paid $60 for the machine!). Tried to call Weed Eater again; much voice mail tree tail chasing. Finally called Amazon; told them the problem. Got through to customer service in less than 1 minute; they shipped me a another unit FedEx for overnight delivery - no questions asked.I have been an Amazon customer since 1997 and that is why: If I've ever had a problem; they always take care of it - and fast. As for Ed's Power Equipment in Addison and Weed Eater; well, that's a different story.

it is a pretty good product and it works just fine, but it is very hard to get it started. it takes at least 8-10 tries to get it started. once started though, it works just fine. and it is lightweight.

When I received this it had a broken choke lever. I had to call and get a replacement, which I had to swap out myself. Even after that, it did not run well, and I had to use a piece of tape to keep the choke lever in the run position. Now, the pull string has jammed up. I got about 3 uses out of it and will be going to buy a new trimmer from a local store to replace this one.
