Zevon wrote one of the best love songs in the english language but you won't find it here "Hasten down the wind", and then no "Carmelita" either. No "Poor poor pitifull me" either! Besides that this is a nice collection, but it should be titled "13 love songs" and not "THE love songs". Pitty they did not add some more songs with 30 more minutes of time, but maybe this could be fixed in a new remastered edition. That would be a nice idea.

I heard this album while visiting a friend, and decided I needed a copy for myself. It hasn't disappointed. There are several noteworthy songs to enjoy and get lost in.

I did not appreciate the fact that this was just advertisement for the Dirty life and Times book that I just plain hate!! Give us the music of Warren Zevon and keep your propaganda to yourselves please!! The selection of love songs was poor. Warren deserves better than this !!

I'm sure Warren could care less, but why the &^%$ isn't he in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! I heard a cover of "Reconsider Me" on the season finale of Californication. Great song!

Any fan will have these cuts already. There is something to be said for getting this cd. If for no other reason to maintain a "complete" collection.

this is a pretty lame release. anybody familiar with Warren's work, especially his earlier classics, knows he composed and sang many beautiful love songs.
why they're not on this disc is quite confusing. Only the opening track would rank among his classics. the others, I don't even know and I've been a fan since Excitable Boy.
just buy the original albums.
even the 'best of' that's out has a better selection of his love songs.
