5.0 out of 5 stars Superb soundtrack better than most Hollywood fare, May 31, 2000

I just love this album. This was a great story and one I watch again and again. I recommend not just getting the soundtrack, but also buying the DVD of the show as well. "Parn's Theme" is probably my favorite track, though it is hard to narrow down just one song that is great. The whole thing is meant to be taken as one story set to music. The only other soundtracks I have which are like this are "Symphonic Suite Yamato" from Space Battleship Yamato, "Conan the Barbarian" which correctly follows the film by the same name and lastly "Dragonheart" from the same titled film. These CDs all bring the film to your heart as you listen.

They are best listened to in a darkened room with your eyes closed. Let the music just take you away and I guarantee you will be happy.

Don't wait just order this CD.

Jim

5.0 out of 5 stars Never regret this purchase, March 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Record Of Lodoss War: Original Soundtrack (1990 Anime Video Series) (Audio CD)
^_^

I originally wanted to buy this CD because of the 2 vocal songs. I don't have this CD in import version, but I got it in domestic version.

So anyway, this CD is really good. A lot better than I thought it would be. I watched the OAV series years ago, and I hardly remember the music except for the opening and ending theme. Which what brought me the reasons I bought this CD in the first place. It's very enchanting, and it's so relaxing. I own a lot of other CDs, and this is one of those rare CDs where I play it constanty from time to time. If you like fantasy/classical type music, this CD is for you.

By the way, this is the Japanese import that you guys are looking at. Judging from the anime music trends (especially those game music CDs), anime CDs tends to OOP (out of print) after a couple of years and NEVER TO BE FOUND FOR SALE AGAIN. If you complain about the price now, you probably wouldn't like the price when you try to find this CD again (unless you bought the fake SM/Everanime copy).

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, April 28, 2001
This review is from: Record Of Lodoss War: Original Soundtrack (1990 Anime Video Series) (Audio CD)
I got this CD for Christmas cuz I put it on my Wish List, I had never seen Lodoss War before(And still haven't though I want to) and had only heard 1 song: Kiseki no Umi. Turns out that song wasn't even on there yet I'm still in love with the CD, most of it is the backgrond music from the series, but there are 2 0r 3 vocals. Thoses vocals alone are enough to make me adore this CD, and should be enough to persuade you to buy it. Truly beautiful. Highly Recommended.
