One of the finest live albums in this genre,

The live atmosphere really lends itself to a performer of such energetic warmth as Jon Hendricks. From a rousing version of "Watermelon Man" to an insanely fast-tempoed "Cloudburst" to an utterly smooth and mellow "Stockholm Sweetnin'," this album is the closet thing on earth to bottled joy. If you have any sense whatsoever, you will buy this album right away.

"James Joyce of Jive"was what "Time Magazine"described Jon Hendricks' Vocalise Works by.This album belongs to one of the finest of his works in his young days, at the peak of his technique.
