Book Description

December 2000
Our lives are marked by a variety of losses. Some are life-changing, such as leaving home, the death of a loved one, or divorce. Others are subtle, such as changing jobs, moving, or a broken friendship. But no matter what kind of loss readers encounter, Wright can help them find hope.

Writing from his experience, Wright covers such issues as the meaning of grief, blaming God, and learning to express and share grief. Study questions are included.

This book was previously published by Revell in trade paperback.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Reading For Those in Grief, May 10, 2000
By
Mike Taylor (Gainesville, GA) - See all my reviews
Norm writes from personal experience... outstanding material that helps the reader understand the meaning of grief, predictable recovery stages, and how to help others with their losses. Most importantly, Norm helps the reader to come to grips with grief in a holistic view...unmasking grief issues that may have been buried for years yet left unaddressed...only because we typically confine grief to the aftermath of a death in the family. I read the book, attended the grief recovery seminar that Norm teaches, and discovered what a powerful influence unresolved grief had become in my own life! Must reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing book!, November 11, 2010
This review is from: Recovering from Losses of Life (Paperback)
I have read many books on grief, but while many of those books left me feeling smarter, my grief remained. This book not only described grief, but it went the additional step and gave me a PATH TO FOLLOW. "Handles" to grab onto and practical changes I needed to make to navigate from the fuzzy, disconnected land of grief back into life colored with joy.

This is the book I put into the hands of my grieving friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful tool for parents of adult children, April 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I battled for years trying to figure out what was wrong with my relationship with my adult chilren. This book showed me that I had never properly grieved the many losses in my life. I carried that grief around like an albatross around my neck, and my children could not stand it. They felt burdened by my behavior and avoided me as much as possible. This book helped me to recognize how unresolved grief affects the people in your life, and it makes it possible to finally work through your sorrow and MOVE ON!
