Editorial Reviews

Review

"book would be best for patients not PTA students...excerpts are helpful to me as an instructor...recommend the book to my hand/cva patients..."

From the Publisher

This unique and practical book will provide you with a variety of hand exercises to use with stroke patients that will help build strength and dexterity. For each exercise, Dr. Smits reviews the purpose, gives a brief description, suggests when to start, and lists the items that will be needed to perform it. Also included throughout are step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercise with a discussion following. The combination of personal experience and scientific theory make this a unique contribution to stroke recovery literature.

This review is from: Hand Recovery after Stroke, Exercises and Results Measurements (Paperback)
This book deals largely with measuring improvements in dexterity. because my stroke progress is hard to see inprovements, I can see the value. I was looking for tips in developing initition of my fingers and there is next to nothing on that. 4 months after, no voluntary fingermotion. just reflexes!
