Written in a no-nonsense style, the author provides practical responses to dozens of real-life sales situations that regularly confront recruiters, such as how to handle client concerns about fees, or how to close candidates who have been offered...

1.0 out of 5 stars This book was not worth the money.
I was highly disapointed by this book. Based on the review, I expected a comprehensive guide. Instead, the scripts was general and would not be much help to anyone but a pure novice. The price of this book is about $40.00 too high. Skip it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Outdated employment agency stuff, October 1, 2008
This review is from: The Recruiter's Almanac of Scripts, Rebuttals and Closes (Paperback)
The quote on the cover of this ten-year-old book from Robert Snelling of Snelling and Snelling Employment agency says a lot. For that is who this shallow book is suitable for...old style unsophisticated office support agencies. [...]

Good product but less creative than I originally believed it to be. Secondly, I fell it is a $10-$15 book not a $55 book.

This review is from: The Recruiter's Almanac of Scripts, Rebuttals and Closes (Paperback)
This is a useless book, dont waste your money on this. This book is for someone who does not know anything about recruitment process. If you are a beginner then there are other choices also....there is nothing special in this book.

Parts of the book are good ... written for the 80 / 90 not for the internet / cell phone age

This is a comprehensive, invaluable resource for every serious recruiter that wants to learn the vocabulary of the business. Written in a no-nonsense style, the author provides practical responses to dozens of real-life sales situations that regularly confront recruiters, such as how to handle client concerns about fees, or how to close candidates who have been offered new jobs. Most of the scripts are presented in alternative versions, so you can pick the ones that feel right and fit your personality. As a recruiter, I've used many of these scripts, and they really work. A"must-read" for any recruiter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for developing dialogs and benchmarking processes, March 4, 1999

This review is from: The Recruiter's Almanac of Scripts, Rebuttals and Closes (Paperback)
This is a very practical guide for developing personal recruiting scripts and for isolating modules and addressing components within the recruiting process. It provides a reference point in which a young recruiter can develop his or her own personalized recruiting scripts. It is also very beneficial in addressing critical communication and interpersonal axis for successful recruiting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for any recruiter, January 9, 2007
This review is from: The Recruiter's Almanac of Scripts, Rebuttals and Closes (Paperback)
I bought a copy of this book for each member of my staff. We read a chapter or section each week and discuss at our weekly staff meeting. We have found many good scripts, retorts and strategies that we can use in our business. I will say that some of the scripts were too harsh for our tastes. We are all female and all agreed some of the scripts would make us very uncomfortable to say. Maybe a man would see them differently? Regardless, the overall learning is tremendous. Something to keep on your desk at all times and re-read often.

This book provides a helpful toolbox of tips and techniques for recruiters. It is a good addition to the bookshelf of a professional recruiter. Many usable scripts and formats. I enjoyed reading it.
