i have had this cd for years and whenever i put it on, i cant help but smile. im not one for the mariachi sound necessarily but this flamboyant, intriguing man has captured my ears and my heart. "Tus Ojos Mexicanos Lindos" and "El Noa Noa II" are fantastic. i have 4 other Gabriel cd's as well. but i dont necessarily like all songs on all the cds. that's no different than any other cd i have ever gotten--in any genre. i found some of his work quite fun and I would recommend it.

Except for Juan Gabriel's live CDs and videos from the Palacio de Bellas Artes which are the best, this album ranks at the top as far as being just plain good. There isn't a bummer on it. It's got a few slow numbers--"Meche" calls for a gentle delivery and there's no question that "Eternamente agradecido" comes from Gabriel's heart. Most songs, however, are lively, and the backup music is catchy. "Juarez es el no. 1" is the most fun, a fast moving number with a solid beat. "Besame" and "Tus ojos Mexicanos lindos" also lift a heavy soul. "El Noa Noa II" is nothing like "Noa Noa," but it's just as good. The album may be entitled "Recuerdos II," but it's certainly first-class.
