3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but bad in a way..., August 16, 2002
By A Customer
This could have been a great DVD. It was the first championship video to be released on the DVD format. The actual film was good, although it could have been longer. They could have included more of the earlier rounds and the reg. season instead of dedicating half of the video to the actual finals alone.

The extras were also lame. The stats are available anywhere on the internet and the Lidstrom feature was very short. The Hasek feature was just the NHL coolshots special about Czech players going home for the summer.

Hopefully in the future they will include much more features such as the closing ceremonies, photo gallery, more insider cameras at practices etc, and multiple camera angles.

I still like it though, I'm a Wings fan after all;-)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Video For The Vault, August 1, 2002

This review is from: Red Alert - Hockeytown 3 - 2002 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings [VHS] (VHS Tape)
As a professional videographer who has done highlight tapes myself, I say this video comes through with an A+. Similar in format to the 1998 Red Wings video, it is even more solid and includes better interviews and background information to supplement the actual action, and the background music is right on. All the different play-by-play announcers (ESPN, CBC, WKBD, WXYT) take their turns in cameos, and appropriate tributes are paid to Stevie's courage, Scotty's mastery and the Red Wings teamwork-in-general. I really had the feeling that I was watching one of the great teams of all times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Even a Hawks Fan..., January 6, 2003
By A Customer
...can appreciate this, but only if they are a true hocky fan. W may never see a team like this again - made up of at least 9 potential HOFers and the greatest coach of all time. Tuff to swallow my pride? Yes. Great to watch? You bet.
