5 stars is not enough to describe this album!,
By Josh (Bucks County, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Red & The Black (Audio CD)
This album just very well might be my favorite of all time(this coming from someone who listens to a LOT of music).I bought this CD the year it came out and even now don't usually go a week without playing the whole thing on repeat.I usually include my favorite tracks when i do CD reviews, but I almost feel like that would undermine the sheer brilliance of the other tracks on The Red and the Black.Agent 51 flawlessly blended their punk roots with riffs and lyrics reminiscent of the most driving classic rock you can imagine. Not only that, they even delve into country music on this CD(and I am no country fan, but even I had those tracks stuck in my head). Not many people know about this gem of a band and I can never stop wondering why.Any fan of punk rock or classic rock or hell, even country is committing a sin in not purchasing this CD, especially considering how unbelievably cheap the Amazon sellers are giving it away for.Every friend I ever introduced to this CD has thanked me.Go ahead and find out why.

mixing explosive punk and classic 70's music isnt easy, but agent 51 more than pulls it off. pick up this album!

A CD with some shining Moments,
By "radujak" (San Diego) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Red & The Black (Audio CD)
Being from San Diego, I have been familier with this band for quite some time, and they have always been a consistently good punk'n'roll band. Their new album, however, did not live up to my expectations. There were a number of brilliant songs, such as American Rock'n'Roll and e. But the rest of the album drowns in a sea of mediocracy, with uninspired lyrics and run of the mill instrumentals. My opinion: get the mp3s of the two songs i mentioned, but ditch the Cd, unless your collection is lacking some local SD punk.
