Perfect for the holiday season (and delightful viewing year round), Red Boots For Christmas is an animated story of Hans the shoemaker. While working alone in his shop, with no family and few friends, Hans has never learned the true meaning of Christmas. When he mocks the townspeople's merry preparations to celebrate the Nativity, he is visited by an angel promising him a very special gift. Hans makes a beautiful pair of Red Boots, and learns the joys of sharing, fellowship, and the true spirit of Christmas. Red Boots For Christmas is wonderful viewing for children of all ages, and perfect for celebratory gift giving.

I happened to work at a local television station the year Red Boots for Christmas premiered. So I made a point of watching the show, and boy was I surprised. Not many of the newer Christmas animated shows have held up to my picky nature, but Red Boots does.

The video and the book are now traditions in our family, right up there with Charlie Brown and Rudolph.

A grumpy shoemaker in a small German town is visited by an angel who tells him he will receive a special gift and visitor for Christmas from God. The excited shoemaker starts preparing his house for a feast and makes a special pair of red boots for his expected visitor. Christmas eve comes and three townspeople who have irritated him in some way come to visit with simple presents and he invites them in to share his Christmas feast. Later the angel returns to tell him that the gift and visitors were from his friends and tells him about the baby Jesus being the savior and that He is the true meaning of Christmas. The happy shoemaker runs out and gives his precious red boots to a small child without shoes. A simple story but surprisingly moving. One of the better Christian videos I have seen. The animation is even pretty good.

This was one of the best Christmas movies that I ever got the chance to let my daughter see. It really portrays what the real meaning of Christmas is. Even if you are a stingy child you learn to give a little of yourself.

Red Boots for Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas stories. I like it as well as any animated or non-animated Christmas story. It not only reminds us of the real meaning of Christmas but the diversity of feelings that Christmas brings to many people. I make a point of watching it every Christmas since the first time I saw it.

I love to collect christmas movies for my son. I happen to see this movie a couple of days ago on the fox family channel. This movie was so good! It shows kids the true meaning of christmas. I would recommend it to anyone young or old. I enjoyed watching it myself. That was the first time I had ever watched it but I can`t wait to watch again with my son. I plan on buying it soon.
