This book is the first one that describes how the red canary was created or "engineered".Genes coming from the "cardenalito de Venezuela" were incorporated into canaries...
It combines genetics,science history and passion for canaries.Very well written the story begin in the pre war times in Germany where the experiments were performed. The title is also very suggestive as the bird was engineered before the DNA molecule structure was described and of course before the genetic engineering revolution. |
