This product works for a while then the motor goes out..you cant put anything heavy on the spinner...the motor stops working even faster. Wish I could find a spinner that is better built and lasts longer.

I can't really give this poor feedback because it seems nice enough and worked when I put a battery in it. The only problem is that I purchased it for a handmade crib mobile and it spins around like a ride at a amusement park. It's quite fast! Probably perfect for your disco ball.

My baby daughter loved her new mobile. But it was a pain to turn by hand. This made it so much easier to entertain her. Added some extra weight to the mobile to make it turn slower. The battery lasts FOREVER. The craftsmanship isn't great, but functionally this item is excellent. Highly recommended for making things turn.

You know what they say about .... the lesser price is not the best! We have had trouble with these eating the batteries or needing a push start to get spinning. I would not buy this brand again!

This product does it's job very well. It is not too attractive and the batteries don't last too long but I have been very pleased with it. My wind spinner would not have looked so good without
this motor.

My previous mirror ball motor was misplaced by a friend when I lent her my lights, so this weekend I needed a mirror ball motor ASAP for a Valentine's dance. A quick search on Amazon brought this item up when I typed in "Mirror Ball Motor." Being an Amazon Prime customer, I went straight for the first product that said prime on it and looked to be of decent quality. The title "Red Carpet Studios Slow Black Rotating Motor" is hugely misleading as I would list this as a medium speed black rotating motor and should not be listed so close to the top of the list under mirror ball motor searches. The price was right and it was in the correct category of products (and it looked a lot like my old motor), so I clicked add to cart and one more click later the motor was on its way to my door. Little did I know that this motor is more for ornaments like the type that spin while hanging in your back patio. This was difficult to tell from the Amazon mobile site which collapses item description sections into boxes that need to be expanded. I put a battery in and watched as my mirror ball was spun at warp speed, completely counter to the idea of how a mirror ball should operate.

The overall moral of this story is that even when pressed for time one should always review all the details about a product before purchasing. Needless to say, I have no use for this and it will be going back to Amazon as soon as I can box it up and get a return authorization, but I can say with honesty that this is the first time that I was disappointed in the Amazon search engine and the description of a product that led me to purchase the wrong item. For future reference, I feel that products of this type, and others that look the same, should have a specification in the title (such as 1 rpm, 20 rpm, battery, generation, version, etc) so that less mistakes are made when purchasing in a hurry or on a cell phone like I did.

Overall this product on its own though is not particularly bad (it wasn't very good though since the power contacts didn't line up and required some fiddling to get it to work) but I give it a bad rating because of what I feel is the incorrect listing of this product under "mirror ball motor" and misleading title.

We went through 2 new Energizer batteries in an hour. Before the evening was over, it had stopped working all together.

Arrived promptly however the motor spins the discoball way too fast. it should be a slow steady spin - not one that makes you dizzy.

So far this product has met my expectations. It has enough power to rotate a 18 Inch Chrome Crystal Spiral Wind Spinner Swarovski that is sold on Amazon with no problems.

We are very happy with the motor. We just wish it would go a little slower, so it would not sway from side to side and just turn slowly.
But we are glad we got it.
