Cute and fun,

This birdhouse is made of a thick resin and the colors appear to be weather proof. The three problems I have with it can be fixed. The eye that is screwed into the top for hanging is too small to hold much weight so I had to make another arrangement. There is no way to clean out old nests so I used a saw blade that is used to cut holes for door knobs and cut a circle out of the bottom. I didn't cut it from the back because I was afraid rain would seep into the crack around the door. I purchased a hinge and a small lock from a hobby store and applied them to the piece I cut out and replaced it. Now I can clean out last year's nest. I drilled a tiny hole under the entrance in the front and placed a small dowel in it for the Momma bird to perch on while feeding her babies. With these changes I now have a really cute and serviceable birdhouse. I can''t wait for spring!
