Yes, it helps to stop the pain caused by a cavity until you can get to a real dentist but this stuff is great for other things as well.

I have had some of the most unimaginable tooth pain, the type of pain where you want to chop of your head just for it to stop. Asprin, Tylenol, Advil, none of those worked! I went to the drug store in painful desperation, I could barely talk and begged the pharmacist do help me. She brought me to the dental aisle and suggested I try this.

When I got home I followed the directions and within minutes the pain was going away, the only difficult part was the taste. The taste is HORRIBLE, it seems like something that foul tasting isn't meant for the human mouth, but if you are in enough pain, you'll do ANYTHING to get rid of it.

Once I got past the awful stinging taste, I was relieved that the pain was gone, I didn't think anything besides emergency surgery would relieve me. Because I don't have any insurance and not enough money to see the dentist, this has been a god send for me until I get to the dentist to take care of this problem once and for all.

Yes, it helps to stop the pain caused by a cavity until you can get to a real dentist but this stuff is great for other things as well. It is a strong anti-infection and topical painkilling agent. Also works great on infected toenails and blisters, etc. Kills the pain, dries out the wound, and heals it fast.

One of my teeth broke and it will be a while before I can see a dentist (yes, I know the risks.) In the mean time I'm trying everything to numb the pain.

The Red Cross medication with Benzocaine doesn't taste as bad as the Eugenol formula. I do think that the Benzocaine formula numbed it more and longer than the Eugenol formula. What makes this awesome is the small cotton balls and tweezers. The cotton balls soak up the liquid and the tweezers make it easy to apply where it needs to go.

Since I'm reviewing the Eugenol formula, I'm going to say pass. Just buy some clove oil! Believe it or not the clove oil tastes better than the Eugenol liquid. The numbness lasted just as long with the clove oil as with the Eugenol. The price comes out cheaper too. You won't have the nifty tiny cotton balls but just cut pieces from a big one and you're there. Both burn slightly, maybe more if you are super sensitive. Save money, go with clove or find the Benzocaine formula.

I know this works for some people but not for me.

I just got my wisdom teeth removed five days ago of course I ran out of the prescription medication (Vicodin) that just made it bearable on a friday night. I went through half a tube of Orajel and started using Ambien to help cope with it. I was boarder line screaming. Finally after searching online I found this product on saturday, bought it, and started to use it. It's been 12 hours and I still don't feel any pain. It is not uncomfortable numb either. Only downside is that if you get the liquid on your tongue, it does burn a bit. Reminds me of licking garlic (stupid thing to do).

Pro: HELPS A LOT!!!
CVS typically carries it with the toothpaste

Cons:
Burns if you get it on your tongue or lips

This is the only tooth medicine that actually works. I used to use it when I was younger and it was hard to find it in stores so I turned to Amazon to find it. Great product and it lasts for hours.

Sometimes the all natural way is best. I have a deep cavity in my wisdom tooth and this all but eliminated the pain after 2 treatments. Now I can avoid having an emergency extraction.
