RED DEMON - A KEEPER!,
By
This review is from: Red Demon: A Gods of Midnight Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
Red Demon - A Keeper! In this AMAZING Gods of Midnight series novel, Aristos Petrakos, an Immortal Spartan Warrior, refuses to believe that Juliana Tiades, the love of his life from another century, is calling to him from her suicide grave. His newly gained powers of sexual rawness and madness explode inside of him every time he thinks of her and that unbridled energy challenges him to his core. When Juliana returns to physical form, she convinces Ari that she is truly the Juliana he once loved, or is that true? How could she reappear in flesh and blood? Does darkness also inhabit her body? An evil that vows to destroy Aristos and those he loves, including Juliana? Deidre Knight weaves a story of Southern charm and djinn happenings that keeps the pages turning. Each word was treasured as I read the book, not wanting to miss one gripping and sensual beat of this Gods of Midnight novel. RED DEMON has a permanent spot in my library. It's a keeper. I have been captivated with the whole Gods of Midnight series and loved reading Ari and Juliana's story.

excellent romantic urban fantasy,
This review is from: Red Demon: A Gods of Midnight Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
Although his beloved died a hundred years ago, Aristos Petrakos still grieves his loss. Adding to his misery is his feeling of guilt as he believes that the love of his life Juliana Tiades loathed his shapeshifting and his wings so chose death by drowning in the Savannah River rather than an abomination like him.Sophie Lowery visits Ari and informs him that she believes Juliana's spirit lives at her house and is trying to contact him as if she does not comprehend she is dead. He does not believe her, but cannot ignore what she said just in case his Juliana needs help and perhaps a miracle. Juliana wants to be with her beloved Ari so has not accepted she died a century ago. An apparent female angel gives her a chance to return to corporal form and she takes it; not grasping the Faustian deal she made. However, Ari has doubts that this is Juliana and besides he spent ten decades in remorse believing she rejected him. Juliana has to persuade her Ari to listen to their hearts. This is an excellent Gods of Midnight (see Ted Kiss) romantic urban fantasy with a terrific premise as a second chance at love for a relatively short time together comes with the price of likely one and maybe two souls. Fast-paced throughout with a strong lead pair and a solid support cast to include Sophie the medium, a fuming Ares, a Djinn demon, and the Spartan Brotherhood; fans will need to set aside time as this is a one sitting red eye special. The purchase was amazing, didn't take that long to recieve this book in the mail. I will continue to order from Amazon.com. The book itself, I just finished. Awesome, can't wait for the next one. IN fact, I am going to order the next book in this series from amazon.com as soon as I finish this review. The Red Demon, excellent read. Deidre sure knows how to grab your attention and not let go till you turn the last page, then you are drawn to the next story in the series. If you havn't started her series of "Gods of Midnight" you need to begin with the first book. All are awesome reads. In my opinion, Deidre Knight is one of the best rising stars in paranormal romance.

Red Demon is a story where the robust characters actually come alive in the pages. The emotions are felt, especially when Ari searches deep for Julianna through the medium. There were moments my heart leaped when the two were together, and tried to sort through the past. When Ari was trying to explain the hurt he felt over her reaction to his wings and the miscommunication, it was such a tender moment, one cannot help but feel some sadness in their heart. Deidre Knight takes players, adds an awesome plot, and instills a wide-range of expressions, with some great pacing, to make this story a read that is positively hard to put down. - Linda L.

Before reading Red Demon, I kept thinking to myself that I had to be exaggerating my memories about how much I love this author and this series - how often do you get to find a new author to add to your favorites list? Well in this I am so glad that my memories are indeed for real! I absolutely, positively ADORED this book from the first paragraph to the last, literally! And I am happy to say that the series continues to get better and better - this is my favorite book so far! The story, both the plot and the romance, had me turning the pages way into the night. It was so entertaining that I literally considered staying up all night to read it...it was a pretty close call. The relationship between Ari and Jules was so cute and touching and, of course, steamy in all the right places. And to top it all off, this book made me laugh - and I love it when an author can actually make me laugh out loud. My favorite kind of book is the kind where you notice people are staring at you from the corners of their eyes, and then you realize that you are smiling/grinning like a mad woman(or man) at the pages of your book. I recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers!! HAPPY READING!!
