5.0 out of 5 stars Jim's book is loaded with both practical & encouraging help
I'm Director of Counsellor Training for Elijah House Canada and highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with severe abuse. There is information about love bonds, fear bonds, weak bonds. There is invaluable information about identity building and repair. Chapter 8's section on 20 Guidelines for Trauma Teams is worth the price of the book alone. Counselors,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful, scholarly, and well written antidote for evil

He is a keen thinker whose compassionate commitment to Truth leads him to examine the world-view of the occult and Satanism in the context of what a caring community of Christians should be. While exposing reality, he is not one to stir up hate; rather he seeks to provide a healthy antidote...

5.0 out of 5 stars A timely word for the Church today dealing with evil, October 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
Thank you Jim Wilder for providing us with the truth about Satanism in the world today. You have provided an easy to follow guide for redemption and restoration for those who have been victimized by the evil practices of the Occult. It is time we (the Church) take our heads out of the sand and see this world for what it is. Red dragon Cast Down has taken the mystery out of the dark evil of the occult and revealed it for what it is. I have found this work very helpful for me as a minister to Santanic Abuse Victims. This is especially true for the ministery to the total person as opposed to just healing of the memories. I encourage everyone who is working with victims at any level to read this book and open your eyes to what God is seeking to do in setting the captive free.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent treatment of a difficult subject!, October 16, 1999

This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
Dr. Wilder has done a masterful job of providing a great deal of information about a very difficult subject, in a manner that not only educates, but also motivates action. There is a wealth of specific "how to" information, with appropriate scholarly documentation. Dr. Wilder's writing style is appealing, without resorting to gimmicks. The reader is rewarded with great information in an easy to read format. This book is the best treatment of this subject I have ever read!

5.0 out of 5 stars this is a book that deals with reality, October 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
What I appreciate most about this book is that it deals with reality. I've read many books that present people, groups or situations as the author would like them to be rather than as they are. This book takes the mask off the real damage that is done to children, and the enormous difficulties in store for the wounded when they seek help. For those who want to help, the challenge is formidable. This book is about intense search and rescue operations that involve the heart, mind, body and soul, both of the victim and of those who reach out to help. If only more people would recognize that the abused child or adult can be as much in need of rescue as the one who has fallen down the well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful, scholarly, and well written antidote for evil, October 2, 1999

This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
Dr. Jim Wilder writes as both a licensed psychologist and ordained minister. He is a keen thinker whose compassionate commitment to Truth leads him to examine the world-view of the occult and Satanism in the context of what a caring community of Christians should be. While exposing reality, he is not one to stir up hate; rather he seeks to provide a healthy antidote rooted in love--based on a redemptive approach. In a day of instant everything he has obviously spent many years giving substance to an approach that needs to be widely read and widely practiced. A must read for thoughtful Christians who sense the dangers of American individualism and the need for a Christian community that incorporates healthy family connection for all who seek redemptive relationships--which rightly include those survivors deeply wounded by the Red Dragon and his allies. The author is to be commended and his book highly recommended. Tom R. Hawkins, Ph.D. Restoration in Christ Ministries

5.0 out of 5 stars Provokes deep thought on what Christs' redemption means!, October 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
Dr. Jim Wilder has shared with us some wonderful insights on Jesus Christs redemption for us and what He then asks of us in response. I thank Dr. Wilder for not going into the details of what he deals with on a daily basis and sensationalizing this book but helping us work through where our responsibilities lie. He is very open about his own home situation and the redemption process that continues there. This is a book that should be read by counselors, church leaders/lay people and parents in order to be aware of what to watch for in our society and what/who it is that is drawing our loved ones away from families and churches. It also makes us aware of how we as Christians need to come out of our "comfort zone" in coming along side of those that are looking for love and acceptance. Dr. Wilder challenges us to open our hearts and minds to becoming "family" to those that have not experienced a loving family life and having enough trust in God to know that He is greater than Satan and will continue to conquer the enemy if we only will choose to trust Him in our desire to serve Him in this way. Thank you for giving us this challenge and sharing with us the challenges you face on a daily basis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important message in this book for the church to indulge in., October 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
Red Dragon Cast Down is a profound message that the christian world would do well to heed. As a 'lay' individual, the book has been encouaraging to me. It has been encouraging in the respect that the author speaks to needs that are often left unthought of, unknown, misunderstood and/or simply ignored. The book covers far more than 'needs' as expressed above.....it is a profound book which speaks to bonds, identity, community, and the impact of the lack thereof. The book also has a personal touch with some of the author's story woven throughout. From my vantage point, the author offers hope and understanding to those of us who are struggling, while at the same time wisely guiding those who are seeking to counsel/support. Wilder is covering important material that is so often poorly understood or simply ignored and dismissed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helping The Most Severely Abused, November 27, 2006
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
As a survivor of SRA/MC, I believe that every pastor or church leader, as well as anyone interested in counseling or prayer ministry should read this book. It was difficult for me, personally, because the vision that Dr. Wilder has of churches coming together to form communities of "spiritual adoption" is very hard to put together. Its a subject that understandably makes one uncomfortable, but as followers of Jesus, we aren't called to comfort, we are called to service. What higher calling, than to help those who live in the greatest darkness and horror imaginable. Dr. Wilder's descriptions of different kind of bonds people form was helpful to me, in understanding my own relational problems. His testimony about how he and his wife were affected by his ministry is essential knowledge for anyone to learn from who desires to minister to survivors with this background. My only complaint is that the population he describes as coming out of the occult seem to be those who got into it by choice. He talked a lot about why people get into and stay in the occult, which is good; but said little about those of us coming out of transgenerational Satanism/Luciferianism, and the unique problems that come with helping someone who is programmed/mind controlled. I would be grateful to Dr. Wilder if he would write a book for survivors of this type, who in the realistic world we live in presently where we have little help and support, need to know how to get out and get healed. I'm waiting anxiously...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!!!, September 14, 2011
This review is from: The Red Dragon Cast Down: A Redemptive Approach to the Occult and Satanism (Paperback)
This book was excellent! Every pastor, prayer minister, and church leader needs to read this book. Hurting people are coming into our churches looking for help. If we do not know how to help them they will turn, drugs, alcohol, or the occult. This book has answers. I encourage those loving Christians considering spiritual adoption to consider carefully the commitment they are about to make. It is so needed! However it is a life long commitment. If you tell someone you will be a spiritual parent to them and then change your mind because it turned out to be more of a commitment than you anticipated, you will damage that person as badly or perhaps worse that the abuse they are trying to recover from. Everyone should read this book.
