5.0 out of 5 stars The best version of this powerful grimoire of power
I love this book! It is chock full of instructions for summon the Demons that the Medieval Magicians were so fond of commanding. Written for those who have some knowledge of Magick. Even though you may not find it easy for a beginner, it's capable of working if you know some bare bones rudimentary practices like visualization, protection rite, etc.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST QUALITY EVER
The IGOS puts out the worst quality books with grade school level translation. I would never recomend any book of the IGOS to any one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Red Dragon, December 2, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
Wow, this is the real deal. Book includes the original French version as well as the English translation. As any true occultist knows the French versions of occult texts were changed the least of any other writing from ancient times.Italian books were edited the most by Church in that country and offer the worst possible source of information. This version is alsotranslated by a "working" occultist. Not a Professor or book company. This company by far offers the finest occult texts in the world. Their beauitful over size text with color jacket is not to missed. Easy to read and a collector item as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars As hardcore as it gets..., October 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
Whenever people have told me that they've taken an interest in the occult and what I could recommend as introductory reading, this book NEVER comes up. Nevertheless, for those whose interest in the occult sciences runs, not necessarily to the black arts, but a little deeper than the Llewellyn and Weiser texts which decorate the 'Mind, Body and Spirit' section..., this is required reading. Along with the Grimoire of Honorius and the Grimorium Verum, this is THE source of black magic and demonic evocation. Slightly lighter texts such as the Lemegeton (Lesser key of Solomon) and Agrippa's books of occult philosophy should, however, pre-empt any investigation into the more serious matters of demonology, if only to give an idea of what the craft entails. Be warned, this is sinister stuff, although exactly how it affects you depends alot on whether you accept Christian mythology as genuine, or the rituals as simply a mind alterant. People search a great deal for 'necronomicons' and 'black bibles'. This is as close as you are ever likely to come. And buy the Trident Books edition, if only for effect. Black leather binding and pentagrams may scream Hollywood cliche, but it looks good, and seems to help me get into the right frame of mind...

5.0 out of 5 stars Rare Material, April 15, 2000
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
This book is the "Necronomicon" of the present. Full of helpful and rare materials to get into contact with demons and other ghosts. But "normal" people shouldn't use or even read it, because they have no protection against these mighty powers. So, please, do not use it if you're not initiated or experienced but do it if you are!

For those who know about these matters, great addition to the occult library! This is serious and real stuff, not to mess around and not as simple as the Weiser or Llewellyn editions put it out! For those who just start,well...a HUGE WORD OF CAUTION! Some books are not open with impunity...
Be watchful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
Robert Blanchard is a practicing occultist that gives you insights you will not find anywhere else. He uses the original French edition to translate from. One other Italian based translation was alterned by the Church so many times, it is worthless. Further this text is over sized and easy to read. Other joke editions done in 6 x 7 inch size uses old englisg fonts. These are difficult to read. Triden & Acorn press are terrible booklets no better then finbarr type books. Not to mention the terrile translation. It is funny to read their reviews of IGOS texts. They could never out sell IGOS and can only slander them. Sad that IGOS was the first to bring all the main grimoires to the public in unlimited easy to read additions. Try an find there other grimoires, they are fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Grimoire, November 23, 2004
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
I am an active occultist and this edition of the Red Dragon by Robert Blanchard is a powerful and effective grimoire. I have even had occult experiences with this book simply by placing it near where I sleep at night. A true grimoire is itself a book of Magick, and with the original French edition after the English translation, one has a superb and rare book of Magick. I would
also like to say that the hard cover edition of this Grimoire
by BOTNL (SONA) is very beautifully done and is of very high
quality. I also own the less expensive version by BOTNL which
is soft-cover and also very nicely done. The Blanchard version
includes a translation and the original French version.
Regarding the Red Dragon, this is the definative Magickal Version
of this great Grimoire.

5.0 out of 5 stars Red Dragon Grimoire, April 18, 2006
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
I was so lucky to get a version of this the most famous grimoire of all time. The book gives you the authentic original French version after the English translation. Nothing was changed here or so-called altered for better "looking" quality. You get to see the REAL seals and sigils as they were actually published hundreds of years ago. If you are really into research you can even give a try at your own translation if you know french. All real researchers know that ONLY the French version was unchanged. Unlike the Italian that was highly edited by the Catholic church. The work that went into this book is amazing. Nice large pages for ease of reading. The rituals in the book are REAl and powerful. I have used several with great success. If you are a real occultist this is a must have text.I am only interested in the rituals and found the Spiral Plastic Comb Binding text to be easy to use as you can lay it flat. But, do not buy it you do not like cheap binding as Spiral editions are never pretty.Robert Blanchard is the greatest living occultis in modern times. Translated hundreds of rare texts never before offered to the public. This man deserves your respect and praise.

3.0 out of 5 stars STILL UNSURE, August 9, 2001
This review is from: Red Dragon - The Grand Grimoire (Hardcover)
Whether this is truely a book to be used only by experienced sorcerors or just another 'Necronomicon', I cannot say. I have yet to discover the prerequsite formulae for all the conjurations. Most of it appears genuine enough, and the theory appears to agree with that of Abraham of Wertzburg, whose opinion I have truely come to respect (though I doubt he would have ever used such a book!). One thing is certain: Do not try this at home, boys & girls, unless you are certain you have the skill, as well as unshakeable faith and a genuine need to do something so dangerous. The names mentioned in this book ought to scare the hell out of you!
