"The Red Eric" is one of Ballantyne's most famous stories. This masterpiece was one of his earlier works, it is about the south sea whale fishery. Ballantyne based this book on his personal experiences. Glynn Proctor, Captain Dunning and their companions deal with some whale thieves, get lost in Africa and are shipwrecked on a deserted island. In the course of the tale they learn to trust God in all things.

well I like this book. I have always love stories of viking. Thou I hate the son of so and so stuff. but I have always hate it even as a child. this make me want to look more into Eric the red. It's must read. just for the history alone.
