Espen Lind blends a great voice, above average songwriting and looks into one package. "When Susannah Cries" is probably the most noted song on the album; Espen Lind's delivery is grand, befitting the well written lyrics (with the sweep of violins thrown in to boot.) I have not heard of many artistes from the Scandinavian countries (save Byork), so Espen Lind can be considered a rare find of sorts. He's one of the better singer songwriters to have emerged in the past few years in my opinion.

My first contact with Espen's music was through his MTV video for "Lucky for You". This song then started to get some airplay here in my home town, Salvador, Brazil. I almost became obsessed with trying to get a hold of the Red cd but found it almost impossible to find here in Brazil. A few months later, I ran into it at a cd store and couldn't believe it! It was better than I thought it would be. Being an artist myself, and having recently released my first cd, I am quite sure my second one will be greatly influenced by Espen's music. Espen Lind, who is very well known on MTV-Europe, has made a big splash with this debut cd. I first heard him on the BOP BOYS cd last year and thought...hey...he sounds great. Writing, producing and performing on this cd makes him sound like a well-rounded musician. He has a cute face and crisp clear voice. The tracks come across with very dynamic lyrics and brilliant instrumentation. It touches all aspects of music from the serious to the loveable party boy. He really sounds like he is enjoying himself during production. These songs sound like they are coming from the heart.

I was very impressed by this CD. Espen has true talent and versatility! He has everything from beautiful slow songs, to funky hype songs. He fits in a category all his own. Highly recommended for a music lover of any kind!

Yes, Lucky me to get this cd full of great songs, Espen makes a big hit with his songs " When Sussana Cries" ( A beautiful ballad)"American Love" and "Lucky For you", but this 3 singles are not the only greats songs on the record.

IT'S A DAMN SHAME ABOUT YOU 4/5....Even if i don't really enjoy the first part of the song, the rest is amazing...Love the lyrics

THE BUFFALO TAPES ( MY SO-CALLED FRIENDS) 3.5/5....The last song of the cd, very calm, very informal, but not my kind again. Versatile vocals from Espen is what i can enjoy here. Well, no more to say: Just go and Buy it! This is a must have to any good compilation.

I bought this album in 1998, and I still listen to it regularly .
Lyrics are wonderful, music moves you in the deepth of you heart.
Each song is so special that one can't choose only one. Espen is a complete artist who writes lyrics and composes songs. He transcribes situations he has improved in his life, which will for sure make you think of feelings you've already felt ...
Really, you will enjoy yourself listening to it especially "When Susannah cries, American Love, The buffalo tapes, Nikki's theme... and all the others as well !!!!

Not far out of his teens when he recorded this album, Espen Lind shows astounding promise. In addition to the vocals, he performs nearly all the instrumentation, as well as producing.

Not only are his talents varied, but so is his musical style. He deftly pulls off the sublime balladry of "When Susannah Cries" and "American Love", the energetic pop of "Messing With Me" and "All I Want Is An Angel" (perhaps my favorite from this album), and the plaintive lament of "The Buffalo Tapes" (another of my favorites), not to mention the trippy, funky "Baby You're So Cool", very much in the spirit of Prince.

If you're looking for an impressive and masterful pop craftsman, look no further than Espen Lind. He's a force to be reckoned with!

Este Cd es uno de los pocos que poseo y que me gustan TODAS sus canciones. Es un cd lleno de energia, y muy bien producido, con trabajo de espend lind magnifico, dado que el grabo todas las voces. Es un cd que uno no se cansa de escuchar, y hasta se queda con ganas de algunas canciones mas. Realmente, es muy bueno.

this c.d. has been a real trip to find! i finaly found it and can say it was worth spending 175.00 dollars on it( it cost so much because of lost orders ect...) well yes i love this c.d. it is and will be my favourite for a loooooong time! and i love the song "when susuannah cries" it is my second favourite along side with "lucky for you" and "the buffalo tapes(my so called friends)" i encourage EVERYONE to buy it because you will not regret it and also i say lucky for me to have found an artist of such talent! adios todos!

I'm trying everything I can to promote Espen Lind to everybody I know here in the US and elsewhere. Espen is such a great artist, and I totally fell in love with this album. All the tracks are very good, and the sound is absolutely his own. Excellent!
