If you are looking for plot twists and charachter development this is not a story for you. However, if you like action, you've picked up the right book.

The plot is relatively simple; in a nutshell - "here come the bad guys, we make out stand here." That being said, the battles are quite spectacular, and you'll be turning the pages fast to see who will live to fight another day. The nemisis of the Soldiers of Barabas are the Soviet Spetznatz, which of course is a little dated along with some of the dialogue. If you can look past that and just don't take the book too seriously, you'll have an enjoyable read.
