I currently own 4 or 5 pairs of wrist guards. I coach Roller Derby and am not "small" by almost any standard. I taught myself to skate, learned to referee, and now teach skaters... well, how to skate.

First: They fit is airy, dry, and comfortable. Initially I was put off by the "on and off" of the guards, but I have adjusted and finally realized that the straps not only hold them "on" but adjust the tension in the actual support of the guards.

Second: They are not rigid. You would think they would need to be, but I thought that and am now officially wrong. I preferred, up until wearing these for a time, the S1 Damage Control orthopedic guards. The fit uniformly, the were tremendously stable, and prevented MANY injuries while I skated around like a clown. These guards afford me more mobility without, seemingly, any sacrifice of joint protection

Note: If I had a history of previous joint injury, I would probably still be using the S1's. Just FYI. It would make me feel more responsible.

Thirdly: The price point, as a pair, was nearly half of a single S1 Damage Control wrist guard. They are durable (I skate at a concrete skate park, and I am old... but not incapable of bailing from 6ft in the air...) and I have wiped out, crashed, biffed it, and smeared myself many times in the last month. They are the worse for wear, but still comfy, protective, and delightful to look at :)

I recommend the try. If you don't like them.. you spent 20.00.

Thank you for reading my blather.

After a few wrist sprains this season, I decided to pick up some wrist guards. These are very comfortable, but I'm unsure if they provide any protection at all. As a former skateboarder, I remember my wrist guards having a metal bar on the bottom side of the wrist. This was very useful as when you slam into the ground, the bar takes all of the impact and it prevent your wrist from being flexed upwards.

These guards have three small flexible metal bars on the top and bottom side of the wrist. Using my arm muscles alone, I could fully extended my wrist up and down. If I were to slam into the ground, I don't see how these wrist guards could provide any benefit or prevent an injury. I returned these for a pair that with a stiff metal bar that I know works.

This is my third red impact wrist guard.
This one is more slim and neat so you can easily use it with almost every glove.
Never ride without a wrist guard!

These wristguards are comfortable, but useless. I broke my wrist while wearing these. Buy something else, especially if you are a beginner.

I bought this for snowboarding after breaking my wrist two years ago. The wrist guards are sized the same a normal winter gloves, so if you where a large in gloves then buy a large in the wrist guards. They are more or less comfortable. I wear them over heated glove liners, then seal the whole think up with over gloves. my hands do get a bit bulky with this 3 layer combo, but I still have enough dexterity to strap on/off my board. No real complaints. They do what they say, they protect your wrists!
