5.0 out of 5 stars New Fan, October 25, 2006

This review is from: The Red Line of Yarmald (Hadra Series) (Paperback)
I am not a particular fan of lesbian science fiction fantasy but there is one author I will read again and again, her name is Diana Rivers. Her Hadra characters are more than your average "smultzi" lesbian sci-fi fantasy heroines. They have developed powers that go beyond "gaydar" into the realm of "wholistic telepathy" with the ability to read not only thoughts, complex emotions and decision making abilities but to also connect with the animals they revere and use their powers against their enemies. Their struggles are reminicient of the prejudices and political oppression of GLBT in comtemporary society. I became emotionally involved in their plight for a "place to call home" and was moved to tears more than once which was cathartic for my logical Virgo personality. Even the steamy love scenes were well written. All of River's books have kept my partner and me reading well into the night with infrequent need of a bookmark. I give this author six out of a five star rating.
