5.0 out of 5 stars Gut-splitting sick, perverse, WONDERFUL humor!
I was already familiar with Red Meat through another Web-site, but had never found a collection in book form until recently. I have not laughed this hard since the first time that I read Dave Barry's Bad Habits. My copy actually has tear-stains in it from my uncontrollable laughter. I was already familiar with Red Meat through another Web-site, but had never found a collection in book form until recently. I have not laughed this hard since the first time that I read Dave Barry's Bad Habits. My copy actually has tear-stains in it from my uncontrollable laughter. It's David Lynch on gallons of cough syrup and loads of booze, and brilliantly--if pathologically--hilarious. And after you read this book, stare blankly into space and ask out loud, "Is it still there?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable, August 21, 1998
This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
This is by far one of the funniest compilations of cartoons ever printed. The humor is so dark and hysterical. I have not laughed as hard as I have laughed at this book in a LONG time. The content is sometimes sick, sometimes twisted but always hilarious. I cannot get enough. I loved it through every page. Not only is the actual cartoon funny but the titles of each one lend a hand to the razor sharp wit of the strip. This is definitely a must buy, skip Gary Larson and buy this book.

If you have any appreciation whatsoever for morbid humor, buy this man's books immediately. There's really nothing else to it.

This is easily the most hilarious collection of comics I have ever read. It's almost like The Far Side with an added dash of sick morbidity. And everyone needs a good dash of sick morbidity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ok, so I'm a sick, sick person, June 1, 2000
This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
I think Max Cannon must own the sickest mind in the western hemisphere, but Red Meat is definitely the funniest comic strip I have ever read. I've owned this first book for a few years now, but I've never run across the second collection anywhere but here on Amazon. Unfortunately for the powers that be, Red Meat will not be suppressed: I constantly have 5 different strips on my dorm room door.

5.0 out of 5 stars first time I laughed out loud at a comic strip since I was 8, April 18, 1999

I don't even own the book yet, but I've read some samples off the internet and I'm dying to buy it as soon as possible. Umm, yeah. Oh, guess what. Last night I ate at my asian friend's house, we had real Korean food. South Korea. Anyway, he had all these relatives over (it was his sister's 3rd birthday) and they were all talkin to each other and I had no idea what they were talkin about so I just sat and ate. They had this great stuff called "kimchee", it's like strips of overly-spiced cabbage. Oh, I gotta go eat dinner. Umm, my parting words are... well, I forget. Oh yeah, buy the book. K, bye bye. P.S.- if you have AOL then IM "DecafSucks" if you're bored, cuz I need a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's sick, it's VERY wrong, and I love it., August 23, 1998
This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
A very excellent book of cartoons. The most vile, corrupt, and disgusting concepts are here. Enjoy them. Relish them. Share them with people you know who will be mortally offended. Get twice the fun out of one book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've never laughed so hard at a comic strip, August 7, 1998
This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
When I first saw Bug-eyed Earl staring at me from the cover I had to check out what Red Meat was all about. I've never laughed so hard at the printed word in my life. It's often dark and subversive stuff and it's endlessly clever. I'm now addicted to Red Meat.

This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
After following Mr. Cannon's work from his website...I decided it was time to look cor a compilation to call my own. THis book was definately one of the funniest things I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Max Cannon is easily one of today's most creative and talented masters of the comic strip.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strange comics and interesting characters are cool, June 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Red Meat: A Collection of Red Meat Cartoons From the Secret Files of Max Cannon (Paperback)
Max Cannon's RED MEAT comic is one of the funniest, one of the strangest, and definitely one of the most disturbing comics i've read in quite a while. The 1950's retro-style art adds to the enjoyment.
