Book Description

From the creators of Ladybug Blue and Puppy Come Home.

Red Rex is a little T-Rex. He tries to keep up with the pack, but he's too small. What will he do? He finds his answer in a dream from a new friend--a purple turtle--who knows all too well what it's like to be an outcast.

This is an endearing tale about looking for answers in odd places and trusting your heart. This little guy can save the day even though he's small!

This is a cute fully illustrated eBook for ages 2 and up.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

More about Red Rex:

What inspired you to write this story?

Laura: I wrote this story because I have a situation with my little one in which they just don't quite fit in at times. I wanted to write something to lift my little one's spirits. It provides a message of empowerment. Red Rex embodies the spirit of trying even in the face of adversity.

Why a dinosaur for this message?

People see dinosaurs as intimidating and scary at times, I just wanted to create a little, cute dinosaur--something out of the norm.

What's in store for the future? Any more Red Rex stories?

I am contemplating another story with this little guy, not sure yet. Right now I am working on the sequel to Puppy Come Home. Looking forward to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Red Rex March 22, 2013

I loved this book. It's funky and quirky and gives kids something to think about, especially if they don't quite fit in. The little runt finds a special friend. And when disaster arrives, he saves the day. One of the reviewers was very sour and had nothing good to say about this book, but these books are for kids, who can enjoy reading about heroes, amazing accomplishments, and special friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not real exciting January 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was ok, I guess, but the rhythm was awkward, and it took away from the story, which might have been charming if the rhymes weren't so forced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good book for youngsters January 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Laura writes directly for the reader and Daren's artwork is very eye-catching. A win-win combo.A book that I'd highly recommend, not to mention Laura is very prolific with many other titles along with more illustrations by Daren. Thumbs up all the way!

1.0 out of 5 stars too small to read July 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm very glad I didn't pay for this book! When I opened it on my Galaxy S5 the book was so small I had a hard time reading most of it, abs couldn't read the rest. When I opened it on my fire 8.9 it wasn't much bigger. The book has like 100 pages or something ridiculous like that but the story is only 5 or so. The rest is advertising. The story line didn't keep my 1 1/2 yo or my 3 yo entertained until the end!!!

A very sweet story showing that size has no bearing on as long as one has tenacity. My son loved that the little dinosaur did such a big thing!

More About the Author

Laura grew up in Scotland and moved to the United States when she was eleven. She says, "I had the best childhood, playing my days away in the lowlands. There was always something to get up to, whether it was exploring some old ruins or running down to the sweet shop for a bag of treats, I won't forget it."

She spent her first two years in college writing poetry and started publishing in 2011.

Writing is her passion. She is always creating children's books, drawing inspiration from nature and her two little ones.

10/27/14: Thank you to all of you who have emailed. I love to chat with you all about whatever! Keep them coming! I love it and I love you all and the wee babes who enjoy our books! We are working on some print versions. I will keep you all posted on my blog.
