5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD
I saw Janus on tour with Framing Hanley and Transmit Now (Both of which are awesome). After seeing them play I was instantly hooked. They have a great sound, and really bring back a solid rock sound. Overall I think the cd is great. 'Eyesore' is just awesome and my fav from the CD, 'If I Were You' is a good second track for me. 'Stranger' and 'The Nerve' are also worth...

2.0 out of 5 stars The music is ok, but you've heard it before
The Good
"Six Letters Sent" delivers meaty guitar riffs mixed with high-end vocals. "Maybe It's You" is a dark power ballad full of emotion-enhancing guitars and enduring vocals. "Say It" is a great mix of guitar riffage and progressive effect. "Your Arms" compares war to love, and sets the soundtrack with a mix of up and down tempo rhythms.

The Bad...

Overall I would suggest giving the cd a good listen to. One of the better CDs I have picked up recently.
-After doing some searching I think I found an older CD by these guys. The cd is titled 'Armor' and from what I could find is from 2004. I haven't verified it, but so far it sounds like them. This cd is pretty good as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love It!, January 27, 2009
This review is from: Red Right Return (Audio CD)
The vocals, guitar, and especially the drums are tight! I found these guys after seeing the video for the track "What If I Were You" on YouTube. Downloaded the album pretty much after that. I love the entire album and I think there is a strong future for these guys.

The other positive reviews pretty much cover everything about this CD. I just wanted to add that if you like any of the singles off this disc, then you will definitely like the entire CD. Its not a bait-and-switch one-hit wonder.

I first heard Janus on XM Radio. I have yet to hear them on mainstream radio in Los Angeles. It would be nice though as this band deserves much more recognition. I've listened to this album all the way through numerous times and I'm waiting in antisipation for a follow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, October 1, 2010
This review is from: Red Right Return (Audio CD)
i can't remember the last time i bought an album and loved every single song on it. The first time i heard of Janus was when my local rock station played Eyesore for the first time. It was different from what i usually listen to and decided to take a chance. It is well worth it. I can't even pick the best songs because they are all great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janus, June 20, 2010
This review is from: Red Right Return (Audio CD)
I saw these guys last year at Scout Bar with Framing Hanley and The Veer Union and they rocked the place up. The cd sounds alot like Breaking Benjamin if your a fan of them. Its really hard and a bit soft at times but still a great cd to listen to. My brother even got the autograph of the entire band at the concert.

Loved the CD; driving beat to take me to my next endeavor. Excellent to go to the bands website and see some video of their history the fingering of the licks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Original Sound!, February 1, 2010

This is a great album for anyone who likes Hard Rock. Its a really unique mix of musicians resulting in a completely original sound. Their single, Eyesore, sounds like no other music out there. The rhythm section drives the music and sounds like they were pulled from a heavy metal band. The riffs of the lead guitarist are anthemic. And the lead vocals rise above the industrial sound providing harmony usually lacking in heavy metal music. Its hard to compare them to any band out there, but if you like Chevelle or Deftones, you should definitely buy this album!

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh hell yeah!, December 25, 2009

As far as rock music goes, these guys really get it. They do it the way it should be done. Janus is refreshing in that their sound is very atmospheric and even beautifully strange when one tries to contrast them to the no talent rock bands that flood radio stations these days. It is smart music... with a smooth coolness within its structure. Some of the songs on this album leave me feeling a bit wistful (i.e. 100 Years and Skin Deep). These guys DESERVE to be on the radio more than most of the bands who do get air time. Janus sets an example that should be followed. And they should be touring with Breaking Benjamin, instead of that piece of s*#%! excuse for a band called Nicka'back...

So, spread the word and keep Janus alive. This is truly some great music! Now go buy it!
