I started reading the Red River series mostly because I wanted something to read and knew there were a lot of books in the series that I could get should I fall in love with the story. As for as volume two goes, I can say that the story is growing on me though I've yet to fall in love with it. I'm not really a fan of manga were the girl who ends up in an ancient land is repeatedly kidnapped but there is a spark in Yuri's character that is keeping me glued. I want to know how far her relationship will go with Prince Kail. I admire her for giving up her opportunity to go home just so she can right a wrong. The artwork is on the old side but it's not like this book was created yesterday. It's been in the works for a while and I can appreciate it.

I will read a couple more of the Red River books but this one didn't grab me. I guess I'm not falling for the love story as some other readers might and am a bit concerned about some of the pictures. I want books my students can enjoy and this one may not be a series that they will enjoy.
