5.0 out of 5 stars Killer ambient groove collaboration, May 29, 2002
By eEL (Red Lion, PA USA) - See all my reviews
RED SECTOR A (who successfully hit European dance charts for his solo projects recently) alongside ALIO DIE (a dark ambient artist who has collaborated with VIDNA OBMANA among many others in the genre) have released an unblemished debut CD of polished experimentation which goes by the moniker of SON-DHA. Mixing the electronic elements of ambiance, drum `n bass, free-flowing minimalism, and effected found sounds, SON-DHA perfects the taste of something new in the world of ambient music. This is an album that would appeal to fans of SCORN or ROBERT RICH.

The first track starts off with a low drone which molds into a strangely effected snare drum, slowly added into the mix is a sound like slapping a long wire with a pipe with exquisite layered effects, then the beat groove begins like a gust of wind flowing through a densely populated forest which makes the trees dance in the breeze. From there the soothing doesn't stop, this feeling emanates throughout each of the 8 long-playing tracks. This 56-minute CD is a perfect companion to virtually anything at all.
