4.0 out of 5 stars Old-timey patriotism
Several US states are the subjects of RED, WHITE & BLUEGRASS; two other songs celebrate the flag, and a third, an entire region. This collection is jam-packed with high-energy pickin' and foot stompin' good times.

All of the tracks on RED, WHITE & BLUEGRASS feature finely talented musicians-- its really good traveling music. I'm most partial to the faster-paced...

Or maybe more Pop Bluegrass is more like it. Of course with a Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs tunes nailed on the end, it does try to pull itself back to its roots.

No track list sure isn't a good sign for a purchase and finding so little on the net about this CD is a buzz-kill too.

I found nothing to complain about in the actual music, all is excellent. The problem is the very abbreviated song list. Seven (7) tracks is all they offer and 24 minutes of play time. This is more like an extended single.

Universal Music Special Markets, produce this out of Santa Monica, CA. and I wonder just what 'special' market they were shooting for? All these tracts are available elsewhere and would offer a better value than this.

Side note: my seller treated me with a battered case and a punched UPC so wide a small car would fit through it. Nice added value!

1. Lee Ann Womack- Forever Everyday 3;49
2. Alison Krauss & Union Station- So Long, So Wrong 3;22
3. Dolly Parton- Little Sparrow 4;13
4. Nickel Creek- The Lighthouse's Tale 5;00
5. Shannon Lawson- Bad, Bad, Bad 3;29
6. Bill Monroe- Scotland 1;46
7. Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs- Foggy Mountain Breakdown 2;42

enjoy

All of the tracks on RED, WHITE & BLUEGRASS feature finely talented musicians-- its really good traveling music. I'm most partial to the faster-paced tunes here, especially "Alabama Jubilee," "Peach Pickin' Time In Georgia" and "Pennsylvania Polka." A thoroughly enjoyable album.
