5.0 out of 5 stars Red, White & Rock
I think I have all of these now (Doo Wop 50; Doo Wop 51; Rock, Rhythm and Doo Wop and Red, White & Rock were all part of same series) and I think this would have to be my favorite. This whole series is great though. Many of the artists sound as good or almost as good as they did back when and it was great to see them as well as reminisce with these great entertainers...

Its a ok DVD. I have seen better. Most of the program is 3-4 star rateing but it falls short in some of the preformers like Tommy James sets that do not retain what made them great!Still is a good deal for the price.

Great songs, great music, great entertainers and you can understand the words. (You will probably want to sing along with many of them especially if this is the music of your life)

I first saw this show on the PBS Station, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My personal hi-lite of the show was seeing The Fireflies sing "You Were Mine". I've been a fan of this group since it's inception, and this was the first time I ever really saw them...and it blew my mind. The Fireflies also have a CD that should be checked out (import). The whole show was definitly very entertaining and I want to commend PBS for continuing their interest and reunions, hi-liting many of the old entertainers who have long been forgotten, or not heard from, in many years. This DVD definitely has a place in my collection of oldies shows from the PBS channel, and hopefully more will come. These shows certainly take me back to when music was most enjoyable.

If your looking for that time when you can step back into the 60's then this dvd is for you. No flaws in the taping of this show and great stereo sound will knock your socks off. I played this dvd for a pool party of about 100 people and it was nonstop singing and dancing. So if your looking for that special concert for yourself or a gift then you won't go wrong with this one. LONG LIVE THE 60'S.

Great buy, it brings lots of memory for me and those with me. Can't believe with their physical changes they can still sing real good. Some of my friends who've seen this said it made them cry, remembering how old time flies and where did it go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would like to know more about the DVD, January 29, 2012
This review is from: Red, White & Rock - Featuring The Kingsmen, Frankie Avalon, The Righteous Brothers, Frankie Valli, Connie Francis, The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Dixie Cups and The Shondells (DVD) (DVD)
I have not seen the DVD but we were there for the live taping of the show. I have watched it on PBS and noticed no interviews were shown, but during the live taping I believe everyone of the 30 plus acts were greeted and asked what they were doing and where are they now kind of thing.. is that part of the DVD? Or just the music? The Music was great why we seen the taping.. I believe the 4 tops played for 30 some minutes.. then right into the next acts etc..

I would get the DVD but holy cow.. the price of it... yikes
