Book Description

July 2, 1999
Red Wine For Breakfast is a provocative, contemporary novel set in the volatile world of L.A. radio.

Red Wine for Breakfast stars Jenny Reed, a 34-year-old born-again Californian from New York, who plays macho Monopoly by her own rules. Winner take all. And she had it all: the number one morning radio show on KKTM-FM in Los Angeles, a wonderful best friend, and a nice noncommittal affair with the station owner, Brian Allen.

Her career was all she needed. Success was all she ever wanted. Until Johnny King became her on-air partner and challenged her to play his own game. The day she beat him was the day she gained his respect. It was also the day she lost her best friend in an apparent suicide ... or was it murder?

In a business drowning in testosterone, Red Wine for Breakfast is the story of a strong, determined New Yorker who has to shake off the laid-back attitude of LA to overcome the challenges of an industry that threatens to turn her off and a man who only wants to turn her on.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the trouble, October 22, 1999

This review is from: Red Wine For Breakfast (Paperback)
After 20 or so pages, I was so turned off by these characters and the language, I never finished. A waste of time and a waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good try, but came up short, November 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Red Wine For Breakfast (Paperback)
The characters didn't interest me, the plot was mundane and the dialogue contrived and wooden. I'm sure the author's second book will be better. After all, practice makes better.

2.0 out of 5 stars underwhelming, June 27, 2011
This review is from: Red Wine For Breakfast (Paperback)
Saw this at a yard sale, looked interesting, picked it up. Unfortunately not a good book; trite, predictable, kind of mundane. Unfortunately, it felt like a waste of time. Cannot believe the author actually reviewed herself here. That's just tacky.
