These boots have lasted far longer than I ever expected. I have worn this pair of 2499's for 19 months. Yes the sole has no tread any more, and there are a few rips in the side of the fabric from sharp objects. I work on Oil Drilling Rigs in ND. I have gone through several pairs of insoles though. They aren't the warmest when it is -20 below zero. I have rolled my ankle several times on uneven ground, but I have never injured it in doing so. The boots have give in them and think that is important. The slip style is nice, because I am constantly taking them on and off to keep the indoors clean. They have gone through hell with all the caustic chemicals that are spilled on them, and yet my feet have never gotten wet. This fabric is outstanding!
