This review is from: Red Wolf's Daughter (MythQuest) (Paperback)
MYTHQUEST is one of my all-time favourite PBS series -- and I think it will remain so. In this series, an evil god has captured the father of two intelligent, down-to-earth teens. They go through their father's computer/myth-searcher, to different eras and through different mythologies, to find him. Viewers learn of various countries' myths -- from Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, to the still very-much alive Shinto myth of the Ice Lady -- in an easy-to understand and very exciting way. Throw in the computer/myth-seeker, and you also have a hint of science fiction and the future!
In this episode, the daughter, (crippled in an accident, but able to run about freely inside the world of the computer/myth seeker), becomes a Native American Princess. It's a great episode....but would be far more enjoyable if this could be SEEN in a DVD format -- along with every other episode! |
