The tires have excellent grip.

After a simple programming of the transmitter, this thing was ready to crawl up the steps and right into my house right out of the box.

Finally and most importantly, the second truck transmitter doesn't work right out of the box.

AWSOME is all I can realy say. Keep in mind that this is a rockcrawler and is geared to climb not to race. The 4 wheel steering and axle flex is awsome as well. The tires have excellent grip. Only thing I haave found is that when your climbing bigger rocks they tend to knock the center cap off which a little model glue fixes that. I give it 2 thumbs up!! Well worth the price!

I got this crawler on March 2nd, what a blast. It is really durable and surprising how much terrain it can go through.I have a very challenging yard with retaining walls, downed trees, and stumps. I also burn fire wood for a heat source, so climbing the wood piles is a very good challenge. I recommend tightening things every few crawls just to keep things durable. I also recommend the E403 twin battery adapter and another battery. The battery does take 5 hours to charge, so I bought a Duratrax Onyx dual charger which only takes 30 minutes or less-two batteries at a time. I thought the crawler was a good deal when I purchased the red cat. I gave it 5 stars because its ready to run for $240 bucks.Lots of fun, gotta go drive it now!

This machine is an excellent value for the money. While the wheelbase is too long for competition crawling, even in the super crawler classes, this thing is superb for anyone looking to get into rc rock crawling and/or just have fun with it. Just keep in mind it is a CRAWLER. Wide open on flat ground, a brisk walk will keep up with it, but that isn't what it was designed for.

Mine came with a faulty ESC that would stick in wide open forward throttle. After a brief call to Redcat Racing and submitting their warranty form on their web page, a new one was on its way and in my hands in three days. Excellent customer service.

After a simple programming of the transmitter, this thing was ready to crawl up the steps and right into my house right out of the box. It is equally at home at the park, on the steps in front of my house, or just crawling boxes and furniture in the family room. The four-wheel steering is a godsend, especially with its looooong wheelbase and otherwise gigantic turning circle, and is easily selectable from a button on the transmitter. The wheelbase, I have found, is both its greatest advantage as well as its Achilles' heel. While it lets it slide down some really impressive declines with ease, it can get hung up on the really long lower links. For example, I can go right off the landing on the neighbors' wheelchair ramp (about 2' tall), but it gets hung on aforementioned links on tall steps, requiring some see-sawing of the four wheel steer to free itself. As it runs standard 40-series (4.0-series) tires, I plan to go bigger at some point for a bit of extra ground clearance, but even that is a very subjective demerit I admit (stock tires are about 6 1/2" tall with aftermarket tires of up to 8 1/2" for $80-90).

I bought these for Christmas presents for my Sons. I did alot of research and settled on these even though I haven't bought anything from RedCat Racing before. I've been a hobbyist off and on for over 20 years. I have many 1/8 Gas and Electric cars.

Anyway the box is fairly well packaged and thick to protect the product

All the items were where they should be in the packaging with the exception of one had the battery pack floating around the box unsecured while the other was in the vehicle

You will need 8 AA batteries for the transmitters but it has the charger and a pack for the truck. I recommend getting a better battery pack (one included is 2000mah). I bought them 2 5000mah packs but if you can afford to switch them to LiPo I would recommend it. I also recommend a better charger.

The first truck went together pretty easy with just putting in the batteries and turning it on. The transmitter is harder to navigate than some higher end models but there is a pretty good reference sheet to help you. I don't like the fact that it warns you on some settings that if you adjust it to high it could damage the servos and void warranty. If it shouldn't do it then why have the ability to raise the settings to high?

The trucks came with the same freq crystals and you don't have a choice to select differently so if you buy 2 or more then you will need to get another set of crystals to operate them together.

Finally and most importantly, the second truck transmitter doesn't work right out of the box. I have a kid opening his Christmas present only to find out he can't play with it. I've tried to contact the manufacturer but the warranty claim they have online requires I send in the defective equipment with a $25 fee. What the heck?
