Don't buy,
This review is from: Reddy Pro-Tough Heater, Kerosene/Diesel #TA100 (Kitchen)
I bought this heater and like the other gentlemen reviewing it had two seams leaking after the first use. This would present a fire hazard so essentially the heater is not worth buying. The company is out of business and offers no warranty on the heater. Since I am aware of two other buyers with the same problem, it is not just a fluke. The design and workings of the heater may be good but the flaw in the fuel tank makes it useless.

TA 100 Model Plastic Tanks Faulty,
This review is from: Reddy Pro-Tough Heater, Kerosene/Diesel #TA100 (Kitchen)
This heater tank sprung a leak within the 1st year of ownership. taking the heater to an "authorized" Reddy heater service center required 3 months for the return and sprung another leak within 8 months.
I am in the process of attempting a repair of the tank on my own now. My opinion of this device - defective out of the box.

Good heater, love the thermostat control, and quiter than most. Only owned 1.5 year and plastic tank sprung leak. I thought that the plastic tank would not rust, but it split at the seam. No work from mfg. regarding warranty yet.

I've had this unit for 2 years now and works great. No leaks as other stated. It gets used a lot too. I did have a small issue with it though, the on/off toggle switch broke. It was -32F inside my shop when I went to turn it on. I quickly popped out the switch and made a jumper with wire and vola - the heater fired instantly. Went to a local furnace part store and ordered a new switch for 12$ shipped to my door. The wheel-barrel design is amazing !!! |
