5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Judge This Book By Its Cover!, November 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Paperback)
Intellegent. Thought provoking. Surprising. And a lot of fun! All the best bits of the genre rolled into one. I'll never be able to think of a 'bunny girl' ever again without thinking of Lane's S'leen. Amazingly as it may seem, this is one book that really is actually better than its impressive cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of those great surprises!, September 2, 2009

I have had a chance to get to know Mr. Lane over the past months and I must say he brings a lot of experience to the table for this book and his stories. If you are fortunate enough to talk to him, you'll find someone with depth, imagination and plenty of life knowledge. When these qualities translate to a story you'll find no less than an awesome book! Look for his next story also, you won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars A very late review, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Paperback)
Well, I'd searched for this title quiete a long time. Thanks Amazon, now I found it.
All in all a nicely written book. Though some minor things like the repetetive use of situations and the need to explain everything. Also a nicely done cover and some fine illustrations.
Mr. Lane is quiete good at setting of the stage and bring over the emotions of his characters. In this he has a very fine hand.
To make it short, it's a book I'ld buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Redeeming Factors, December 27, 2006
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Paperback)
James R. Lane is an excellent author who can make words dance. He makes you see the characters in such a way that you feel you know them personally. He combines action/adventure and romance with his sci-fi storyline and makes you want to read more of his work when you are finished. If you haven't read this book then get it and read it, you won't be sorry. I look forward to his next book and will be purchasing it as soon as it is published. Thanks Jim for the great book and keep up the good work!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I was really pleased with this book!, January 15, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Paperback)
When I finally got enough time to sit down and read Mr. Lane's book, I was enthralled from the beginning. I really appreciate books that take familiar plots and shape them into something knew and completely different. His imagination and creativity made this one of the best books I've read in a really long time. I highly recommend it to all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Look out Stephen King, here comes Jim -A MUST READ, January 15, 2002
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Paperback)
If I had to describe "Redeeming Factors" in a word, it would be "FUN." James Lane has taken a fantasy/science fiction idea and turned it into one of the most interesting works I've ever read. As I followed the adventures of protagonist, Jack Ross on a trip in and out of fantasy land and to Hell and back, I found myself reveling in Mr. Lane's dry wit, dark humor, and literary genius.

It is difficult for me to describe the book without giving away too much of the plot, but I would like to stress that the combination love story and exciting adventure can only be described as a 'must read page-turner.' Mr Lane's most original similes are right up there with Stephen Kings's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read Redeeming Factors!!, April 30, 2001
By
This review is from: Redeeming Factors (Hardcover)
I find it hard to review a novel without giving away the story so I will do my best to not spoil it for you. I was turned onto this book by a friend I met on the internet. James R. Lane has written a wonderful combination of Spy Novel/Sci-Fi/Love Story that will keep you reading durring every spare moment. I am a relatively slow reader and I finished it (400+ pages) in just 4 sittings. My wife was starting to get jealous! Mr Lane has a way of keeping the reader involved in the story line and surprising the reader when s/he least expects it. I give the Novel a "4" for only one reason; I think it climaxed a little too soon, otherwise I would have given it a "5"! I WILL be reading it again.
