5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising find and definite good read!!
I found this book on one of my many jaunts to Borders. I read the back and ALMOST put it back. I thought "Here we go again- another tortured vamp with a love interest" but it actually had many twists, turns and unique plot points that kept me interested till the end. Like for instance - not only are the vamps protecting humans from evil vamps but they own and run a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Phewwww...
I had doubts before buying this book, so I checked the reviews the other buyers left, and also looked to the author web page. It sounded good. But I was disappointed when I began reading this book. Is boring. Is cliché. And the main characters are as plain as the pages in which the action is written. If not for the different tastes people has, I wouldn't understand...

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising find and definite good read!!, July 24, 2007
This review is from: Redemption (After Sundown, Book 1) (Paperback)
I found this book on one of my many jaunts to Borders. I read the back and ALMOST put it back. I thought "Here we go again- another tortured vamp with a love interest" but it actually had many twists, turns and unique plot points that kept me interested till the end. Like for instance - not only are the vamps protecting humans from evil vamps but they own and run a security and protection agency. I loved this concept!! I'll be on the look out for more books from this author. She did an amazing job of drawing me into the heroine's life. What was a little frustrating was both lead character's "she does/she doesn't and vice versa he does/he doesn't want to get involved or be in love". Both characters have some serious control issues but overall it was a definite read - a good solid 5 star rating. The all deciding question of "would I pick it up and read it again in a few months???" -- the answer is yes!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Throw in an over protective aunt and a crazy ex girlfriend and you end up with a funny book., January 25, 2009
This review is from: Redemption (After Sundown, Book 1) (Paperback)
Alyssa Edwards wrote a book called "Balance" and is now a publicity tour. She has three more motivational speeches left and her publicist has talked her into getting help because she has a stalker. He has left threatening message and taken personal items from her. After she is attacked she meets with Vlad Maksimovitch who owns and runs Sundown Security.

Christian Galiano is picked by Vlad to watch over Alyssa. After Christian meets Alyssa, he cannot wait to watch over her...body. The attraction is instant and hot. Christian thinks it is because she looks like his ex-fiancé and fights it. Typical male.

Bazhena Galichanin is Christian's creator and she wants him back as her pet. She does not like the fact that Christian is attracted to Alyssa and tries to find ways of getting rid of that so called problem.
This story was so good that I ended up staying up late at night to finish it. Sundown Security has more than just vampires working for them. They have elves, gargoyles and dragon slayers. All are yummy looking and very good at their jobs. Alyssa and Christian are both pig headed and it was fun watching them both drool over each other. The verbal banter between these two was funny, sweet and very loving. Throw in an over protective aunt and a crazy ex girlfriend and you end up with a funny book. I cannot wait to start book two and three in this series.

Is boring. Is cliché. And the main characters are as plain as the pages in which the action is written. If not for the different tastes people has, I wouldn't understand why this book has such high ratings when even the story can hold your attention for more than five pages. But it's precisely because every one of us has different tastes that I think that the other two reviewers there are enjoyed this book, while this story wasn't simply for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, February 8, 2008

This review is from: Redemption (After Sundown, Book 1) (Paperback)
This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be interested in reading more from her. I was hesitant, as the other reviewer, in buying this, but agree that there were enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. I liked the characters and hope a follow up book gives Eric's story.
