for those sincerely interested in hearing both sides,
By A Customer
This review is from: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations (Hardcover)
I have become fascinated with the scandals surrounding Michael Jackson, none more than the child molestation allegations against him in 1993. To hear a perspective from inside the accusers camp gives you both sides to this case, and I must say, Mr. Jackson's side is quite convincing. Michael Jackson had nothing to do with this book, nor does he know the woman that wrote it. But that woman surely knows him, and the extent to which he has been wronged. I urge anyone who really wants to get to the bottom of this case to read this book. Also, do some amateur researching and investigating of the current allegations against Michael Jackson, and you will find many of the same key players involved and similarities between the two cases. No one knows what happened between Michael Jackson and these boys, but of the hundreds of thousands of children he's come across over decades, as time has passed and they've grown into adults, still only two will say anything wrong ever took place. And upon researching these two cases, you'll find many clues pointing to these allegations being completely bogus. Though I'm not spiritual, the author is and there are many spiritual refernces. If you can disreguard this for a moment, and look at the facts, you'll find this woman to seem very credible. I believe one of the greatest injustices could be made on the part of the public in assuming this man is guilty without giving enough fair judgement considering the facts. If Michael Jackson is innocent, the world owes him a BIG apology. Check it out and see for yourself:)

beat it,
This review is from: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations (Hardcover)
I enjoyed this book because it provided a firsthand glimpse into the case surrounding Michael Jackson in '93/'94. The author worked as a paralegal for the attorney representing the person who made the claims against Michael and believed him to be innocent. This is a very positive book which fans should get. I believe all men are innocent until proven guilty and I also believe that our country loves to tear people down. So is it any wonder that they tried to do this to one of the most successful superstars in the entire history of modern music?

This book is great, for sure this book has the information to prove his innocence. I recomend it to everybody, not just to fans. If you truly beleive in JUSTICE, and think everyone should have the right to a fair tria (GET IT) You'll be amazed what is inside the book.> Dates and files clearly show the plot of extotion > Michael was cornered in a wall, the only way out was to pay the money demanded > D.A office spent dozens of thousands of dollers, interviewd over 400 people, searched Neverland, his condo, and the family Encino home and could not find anything on Michael. This book is a MUST READ

I recently read "Michael Jackson Conspiracy" by Aphrodite Jones and was fascinated by how someone who used to bash MJ on TV, ended up eating their own words after watching the 2005 trial unfold. I was then curious about the 1993 "allegations" and this is really the only book that deals with that situation. I would suggest reading this book first and then the Aphrodite Jones book. You really do see how the media wanted nothing more than to bring someone down they had built up so much in earlier years. We all know that is how sick our society is nowadays.
Mind you it's by a self-admitted first time "author", who was a paralegal for the accusers father's attorney, so you have to approach it from that point and not be extremely critical of the writing, etc. It does require some patience to read. Geraldine does a pretty good job of giving you everything that was going on behind the scenes that the media failed to acknowledge and report. She does seem to repeat things at times and gets into several legal scenarios that require patience and at times, a re-read to truly understand. However, she does so to try and educate the reader of the legal process as best she can thru a book. It doesn't take long to realize this case to, was an extortion attempt from the word go. I was completely amazed at what was going on outside of just these absurd allegations. The lack of effort by law enforcement to look into Michael's extortion lawsuit as well as all the other numerous lawsuits all being filed by other parties within the Chandler camp (some against each other), etc. She paints a pretty good picture of Evan Chandler's(the father)character (and his attorney for that matter)and true motives for making molestation allegations. You realize Michael's counter-suit for extortion (which ironically was mentioned VERY little by the media) was perfectly justified because that's exactly what it was. Unfortunately for him, the deck became stacked against him (unjustly mind you) the more intense and complicated the case became. From numerous motions not granted to him, to legal team changes, to the courts rushing the hearings, etc. You do realize, him paying out had NOTHING to do with "buying off the family and kid" so they wouldn't pursue criminal charges. Bottom line, what family would accept money from someone who molested their child??? The DA simply did not have evidence, bottom line. The case remained open for SIX YEARS and they still couldn't find enough evidence to pursue the charges. Between this trial and the 2005 trial you almost become upset at how much taxpayer money was wasted. All because some DA wanted to become "the man" that brought Michael Jackson down. She does get a bit overly spiritual near the end of the book but I commend her for not hiding the type of person she is and respect the fact that she's trying to use her faith as a means to teach as well. She is very believable in everything she presents and is certainly knowledgeable of the laws she is reciting. It's just sad that a father would use an innocent child to punish someone whom he was jealous of and who wouldn't give him money for picture deals(yes, essentially what it boils down to). You learn in the Aphrodite Jones book that Jordan Chandler's mom hadn't seen her son in 6 years and he claimed emancipation when he turned 18 (when the money put into a trust became available to him.). Only justifies certain things you read in this book. Another being the attempt by Evan Chandler to sue Jackson yet again several years later for millions claiming a song Jackson wrote was slader, etc. This man was greedy and would stop at nothing to get money from Jackson. I suggest this to all the doubters who only have based their opinions on what they heard in the media. Take the time to educate yourself before you form an opinion. I applaud Geraldine for taking the time to write the book. Pro-Jackson books are never approached positively. May he now rest in peace. His truly generous nature was a blessing and a curse I believe. The world will never see an entertainer so willing to use their talents and resources to make the world a better place.

An insightful read.,
This review is from: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations (Hardcover)
As one who has done fairly extensive independent research / investigation into allegations against Michael Jackson this book has been full of insight that is not available elsewhere. While Ms. Hughes is not a professional writer her passion and personality come through in the piece.
It is my hope that this publication see a wide distribution be it via a new printing or publishing with a big publisher; or Ms. Huges is given an opportunity to present the material once again with the support of professional writers and editors accustomed to creating books for worldwide distributuion in the millions. As I stated earlier if it is the information regarding the Chandler extortion plot you are after this is one of the best sources.

Can get a bit complicated at times, but it is an eye-opener. No wonder his life became so complicated. I admire the author for her committment to writting the book. The press should be ashamed for their selecivity of the news they push. I believe after reading this viewpoint there was a grave injustice.

PROOF that Michael Jackson was innocent in 1993,
By Sam Davidson (London, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations (Hardcover)
You want the truth?? Here you have it. 6 years after the 1993 allegations, those who were involved can now talk and be heard. This is PROOF beyond reasonable doubt that Michael Jackson was a victim of extortion. It was the boy that demanded money not to testify, Jackson refused at first, until he was made aware that if it went to trial, it could take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years in court. The only reason Jackson accepted the demand for an out-of-court settlement was to end the nightmare, and not to "silence" the accuser as many still think. This is only one of a few shocking facts exonerating Jackson from any wrongdoing. Buy the book and make your own mind up!

Truly Something Special; Truly Gifted Artist,
By
This review is from: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations (Hardcover)
After reading Redemption, there is no doubt in my mind that the King of Pop is innocent.Every quote on quote "hater" that I have encountered over the past several years wants proof of his innocence. Well, guys, here is your proof: a very-well researched and documented book that utilizes the most basic reasoning to come to a conclusion. And, low and beyold, it is not one of guilt. This book is what we, the fans, have been waiting for. We all must realize that Michael Jackson is human. He has feelings. Accept the artist for who he is. Michael is the King of Pop, but he is also so much more. The man -- and his music -- represents beauty, art, love, peace, prosperity, hope, kindness, and bliss; and all in their highest forms. Through his music, words and mere presence, he has created laughter, hope and reasons to live. He has the power to create change by uniting human beings all over the world; and all by simple acts of peace. By his God-given nature. By his soul-stirring spirit. By his mere presence. By the simple fact that he is Michael Jackson. Is it entirely possible that there exists at least one human being on Earth who appears to be as loving, compassionate and, most of all, misunderstood as Jesus? Yes -- and his name is Michael Jackson. No, Mike is not Jesus. But, he is very much like him. Jesus possessed an unconditional love for children, a love so strong and true that the majority of those around him could not understand it. He saw life through different eyes; on a much deeper level; and for this he was tortured and left for dead. Yet, do we question the motives of this man? Or can we, as fellow human beings, search deep within ourselves to feel what he felt; to see what he saw; to be touched in a way that it almost hurts? Can we, as fellow human beings, accept such a man today? Children are innocent: the younger they get, the more innocent they become. In a world where too many things seem as if they want us to grow up too fast, it is often nice to just sit back and take in that childhood innocence; whether it be climbing a tree, riding a ferris wheel or even opening up ones house to young children. I realize it is hard for some of you to accept the fact that a 45 year old man is allowing children to sleep in his room. Yet, is it really that wrong to show this much love and compassion? I think not. Many people are too quick to judge; they hear the world "sleep" and immediately assume "having sex." Here is a very unique individual; one that people don't, and can't, understand. And so they berade him; call him names; refer to him as "wacko." Like Jesus, they cannot fathom even the remote possibility that all of this is true: a man of such pure God-given innocence; in possession of such an awesome gift; one that lies beyond our wildest hopes, dreams and imaginations. A power that can make the homeless smile; give the bed-ridden hope; cause the cancer-stricken to laugh; and bring joy to the developmentally disabled. Did it ever occur to you that he's "not molesting children? Did it ever occur to you that his donating of well over $100 million to charity is out of pure Godly love and not some strange twisted sexual desire? He visits hospitals everywhere he goes, showers disadvantaged kids with toys and helps provide the homeless with blankets and pillows. He is listed in Guinness as having donated to the most charities. He donated all of the profits from his Dangerous world tour to charity. He opens up Neverland to charity groups, schools around the area, the disadvantaged, bed-ridden, disabled and dying. He holds an annual Halloween open house at the ranch. And he pays for funerals. Within the ranch, there are special rooms for cancer patients, mechanical hospital beds for the bed-ridden (that drop down from walls in the movie theater, so they do't miss any of the action), etc. I would like to think as a society, we can accept people who are different; that as human beings, we are open to unique opportunities and experiences, and are willing to give them a chance. Without automatically pronouncing them de-ranged freaks. Without berading them. I'd like to think that, as whole human beings, we are able to look past the outer shell. To be open to different possibilities. And to put logic above idiocy. The man is different. He's unique; beyond basic understanding; beyond normal (whatever that is. I'm not what most people would consider normal; and forget you if you don't like it). Forget his great abilities as a father (something that has been reiterated by his family, friends and fellow celebrities), generosity, kindness, and sensitivity. People hate him because he's different. While some might say he's overly-sentimental, what is wrong with that? I'm the same way; I still love stuff that is targeted towards younger children. Does this make me de-ranged or wack"? Well, that's up to you. I, for one, consider myself to be just fine; and I don't care what anyone else thinks. In the end, I'm not going to pronounce sentence; that's up to you.

AMAZING!!!!!.....I had never heard of this book until a few weeks ago, and i cannot see why! this book should be everywhere to prove this poor mans innocence! but because of tabloids and the greed of others the truth fails to get through! forget the tabloids that write 99.9% rubbish, and read this, written by someone workin close to the case and knows what she is talking about, the actual truth!!! I am disgusted at the lies and hope you will be too, there are two sides to every story, yet no one had time to listen to Michaels, here is your chance.
